There's nothing like rising at the crack of dawn and carving through fresh, fluffy snow at Puerto de Navacerrada Ski Resort. Once you've ticked off all the runs there, load up your skis and see what's on offer at Valdesqui Ski Resort.

There's even more just around the corner. Traspinedo, 7 kilometres to the northeast, is popular for the Bodegas Abadia Retuerta and Monasterio de San Andrés de Arroyo. Alternatively, if Castillo de Portilla and the Aldeamayor Club De Golf are more appealing, go 8 kilometres southwest from La Parrilla to Portillo.

Spend a bit of time at Plaza Mayor, the University of Valladolid and San Pablo Church. These attractions are all pretty close to the middle of Valladolid, 20 kilometres to the northwest. Need something else to do? The Teatro Calderon and Valladolid Cathedral should also be on your travel list.
