The room in this apartment hotel was roomy and most of what was needed for my stay. It had a balcony with a view to the sea and overlooking the pool area. The pool was OK but had a bit of cloud in it. It’s clear this area was going through some maintenance work so that bar and dining area were closed. It looked freshly painted. The bed was decent but the sheets were quite worn. It wasn’t a problem though. Everything felt clean but i think it been awhile since someone did a full clean like washing walls and the like. The kitchenette had a good fridge and gas to cook on. It could do with some more utensils and basics like cooking oil. As I needed to do some work there I could use the dining table for that.
The main issue was that the free internet the hotel offers is really for show. It is a slim down version of dialup and not good for much. The better version of internet you have to pay for, however it was not much better and I ended up having to tether to my phone to get by. Having said that Suva’s overall 4G data speeds are average at best and fake out constantly. So that would have affected the hotel as well.
It may be unnerving for some that the front door of the room is to an outside walkway and was quite flimsy with only a basic locking mechanism.
Still, once settled in, the stay was acceptable and we slept well there. The people were helpful and supportive once arrived but communications before then was non-existent, all my email queries went unanswered.
