Rooms not overly clean mould on ceiling in bathroom. Shower not easy to use. Rooms have very little ventilation if you don’t use air conditioning

The Village Family Motor Inn is the worst commercial accommodation I have ever stayed in in Australia. I advise you to never book this place. I’ll explain: imagine if you can a 1970s facility that has been used solidly for 50 plus years but NEVER renovated. The ancient cabinets (homemade?) and period bathroom attest to this. Even more troubling were the filthy bed base and fridge seals. The mattress was totally collapsed internally and should have been replaced a decade or more ago. The front window winder was broken - as was the fly screen- the result being an airless stuffy room. Why did we stay? Well we arrived on a late flight into Launceston. Consequently we had little choice after opening the room door for the first time at 11:00pm. We paid a heavy price with a sleepless night due neighbour-noise the paper thin walls and the backbreaking mattress. In the morning we both need a chiropractor (this is not a joke). Communications: Prior to arrival I had to contact the manage on 4 occasions (to calls and two remained txts) in order to confirm late entry procedure. I STRONGLY advise to never to stay here under any circumstances. I suspect the ‘capital’ invested in the property has been so over-exploited that renovation to a modern standard is pointless. I also suggest that the Environmental Health Officers at Launceston C.C. should undertake the role they are employed for through regular inspections, Show Cause and Improvement notices and prosecution

Dated and dirty. I wish I’d read the reviews before booking. The room was very old and not clean at all. The beds were made but when the kids hopped in, there was sand/tiny pebbles through the bed. We had to wear shoes inside because my children’s feet were black from the grime off the floor. The pool area was filthy and there was mould on the floor. I hope the owners invest in revamping and cleaning the property as it could be somewhere that has so much potential. All in all, I spent the whole night wishing I’d spent the extra $50 and stayed at the grand chancellor!

Restaurant was closed and no food available. No room service either. Had to ask for towels to be changed each and that didn’t happen sometimes. Bins not emptied in room for a number of days. Room was clean although the fridge seals could use a good going over and the bathroom sink. Room was tired and dated but bedding clean and extra pillows provided when asked. Pool was working and ok but very small.

Very outdated and yes they plan on doing renovations but when….. There was mould in the bedrooms and tissues under the bed. The toilet door did not shut and if it did you got stuck. Oh and the creepy crawling insects we woke up to in the morning was just horrible l

The bathroom had a cracked basin, no soap in dispenser. Floor was dirty. Curtain hooks missing on lounge curtains. The bed moved around,had no stoppers on the wheels. Whole unit didn’t smell fresh and clean.It was stale smelliing.

No shuttle bus from airport. Paid $44 for a cab from airport to this venue. No breakfast served, and no place within walking distance to eat! Rooms need a good paint. Also need facewasher for bathroom. Otherwise room fine. Friendly service, but not in attendance much.
