No one at the front desk to ask for towels so they scorned us for finding extra towels on our own to soak up the water from a leaking toilet. Toilet leaked in my friends room and my aunt’s room as well. They did not provide towels for my aunt’s room. No wash cloths. When you sit on the toilet in room 301 your knees will be touching the wall in front of you. Water from the faucet was brown, it may be water from the local river. The only good thing about this place is the location from the base of Machu pichu

Good place for a one night stay near Machu Picchu
Nice small hotel. Convenient location, very helpful staff, kept our baggage before and after check in/out. No outside windows and spotty hot water. Good buy in an expensive town.
Booked this hotel knowingly it was cheap but not so cheap $50 for a night stay. We thought we would have hot water and electricity. Next morning there was no electricity nor hot water. We used our iphone flash to get ready to go up to Machu Picchu. People running around and talking loud on their phones on the corridors at nights - couldn't get sleep. Take my advice spend few more bucks and get a decent hotel because you don't want to ruin the highlight of the trip - Machu Picchu.

This place is about as middle of the road as it gets. It's not great and it's not bad. The beds are reasonably comfortable and the rooms are clean with hot water. The building is an open air building though so all of the noise from outside will be heard in your room. It is close to the rail lines, but most places are. Do not expect any sort of service as it is just two high school kids manning the front desk. The breakfast in the morning is paltry compared to other places that charged similar rates. Get there early as they just leave the food sitting out the entire time. One plus is the Wi-Fi is particularly strong.

Just to sleep overnight
Nice and clean hotel. Very basic amenities, good location but not so nice view out of the window. Breakfast was not really good.
Ideal only if you are planning to sleep overnight before heading to Machu Pichu.
The personnel in this hotel is very helpful and also if you are leaving early they prepare a lunch bag for you and also print your tickets for Machu Picchu.

Flickering lights and unstable shower temperature
The hotel is close to the train station which is convenient but our hotel room had a flickering light, we requested a double bed and got 3 small beds instead which took up a lot of space. The shower was disappointing as it was fluctuating between hot and cold.
The double room was attractively furnished; the location was excellent--close to the railway station and bus station in Machu Picchu, but also not too noisy. The staff were friendly, and a substantial breakfast was served from 5 AM onwards to accommodate the people who wanted to get an early start (which was practically everyone).
stayed as a stopover for machu pichu, so chose pretty much the cheapest option. small town but this was still well located. very helpful service, they were even on hand when we left at 4am and had a packed lunch/breakfast for us which was a nice touch.
the room was more than I was expecting - very clean and looked nice. No window though which was odd, but we weren't staying long so not a problem. Bathroom was clean and the shower was good - decent pressure and hot water for 3. A little small though, and the layout meant it wasn't easy to sit on the toilet (knees would hit the wall in front, even for someone of 5'2.

The manager Dante created an environment like home. My room was spacious with two wonderful beds and polished wooden floors. I had a window near ceiling, but no view. But that was not a problem: comfy bed, optimal temperature, and so quiet! Fourth floor has a nice view, balcony for smokers, and breakfast. I felt like I was at home.
Stayed one night there before heading to machupichu. We arrived there by the last train around 9pm., unexpectingly the hotel is very nice to pick up us at the station! The host is nice and friendly and tried to help us to settle down asap. Serving breakfast starting from 5am which is good if you plan to climb up to the hill in the early morning.
It is a small hotel, basic and clean. Just our room is aliitle bit odd that the only window in the room is facing to the corridor! I think you need to remark that when you book the room.
Booked this hotel to stay 1 night before going to see the ruins of Machu Picchu. Overall, it was a very good place to stay and I would recommend it. Beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a little far from the train station in comparison to other hotels but one of the reason why I was looking for one not close to the rail roads was the noise. I was happy with my choice and I would do it again.
I would recommend this place. The staff was nice, while we where out they stored our bags after the check out time as we went on our Machu Picchu trek. It's was so hot and sunny that wen we got back to the hotel before getting on the train we asked if it would be possible to take a shower and they gave us a room for 2h wile we got ready and waited for our train. The staff came to meet us at the train station to walk us to the hotel as its so close and no car can go down the streets he even helped us with our bags. Great breakfast upstairs. It's a little noisy as they are constructions around but that hole area would have the same problem. They event lent us some towels to bring to the hot springs as we had non and we didn't wanted to use the ones in our rooms. Yes the rooms are little small but how much room do you really need ;)
This was an awful experience. We traveled throughout Peru and made a reservation the night before headed to Machu Pichu.
We arrived to a a dimly lit hotel. No one was at the desk for over 20 minsutes to greet us or check us in. We walked upstairs to find a hotel employee, but NO one was there at all. It was all dark, all empty rooms and no one to assist us. After waiting in the lobby, we walked down the street to another hotel and luckily made a reservation for that night. By now it was after 11pm! Never heard from the hotel. They do not use the internet and we had no way of contacting them . It was an awful and scary experience.

Just what we needed
Safe, clean, inexpensive, simple place to stay with a convenient location. Would recommend it to anyone traveling to see Machu Picchu.
No toilet paper in bathroom. No bathmat in bathroom. we were promised breakfast at 5 am but at 5:15 there was nothing at all, we woke up the front desk person and she said she would make coffee....we said no thanks. If we had known, we'd have gotten our own breakfast foods before our Machu Picchu hike.Don't promise something you won't deliver.
Hotel clean and nice, confortable bed, very well located. On the negative side, the bathroom was very small and the room was noised (window to the lobby)
We left very early and they gave us a breakfast in a bag, they also kept our luggage until the afternoon.
I would say that the hotel was according to the price
