From Mahlis, venture approximately 140 kilometres west to discover the exciting city of Erfurt.

Put aside some time to go beach combing at Auenhainer Beach, 40 kilometres to the west.

There's no need to head too far to witness some nice natural sights. Load up the car and follow your GPS to Cospudener Lake, 45 kilometres away from Mahlis, for a relaxed day. Or perhaps Recreation Area Lossnig-Dolitz is more your thing? It sits just 40 kilometres away.

Enjoy the electric atmosphere of a live soccer match at Red Bull Arena. If your visit coincides with game day, don some white, red, blue and yellow and cheer on the home team, the RB Leipzig. You can also learn some fun facts about the club and the arena by going on a guided tour.

Take the chairlift to the top of Novako Ski Centre, take in the snow-capped scenery and then zoom back to the base. For more ice-cold action, check out the slopes at Klinovec Ski Center.

Want to go to Kirche Riesa-Groba, Elbebrucke Riesa and Jahnishausen? Head to Riesa, 25 kilometres to the east, and set up camp. These sights, as well as Trinitatiskirche and Rathaus Riesa, are all close by.
