If you travel 160 kilometres of Mako, you'll come across the major city of Belgrade.

You won't need to be on the road all day to soak up some nature. Just 40 kilometres out of Mako, Opusztaszer National Historical Heritage Park is a superb place to enjoy some fresh air. Even more peaceful surrounds await at Ópusztaszer Heritage Park, 40 kilometres away.

Venture outwards and see what's going on in Algyő, 25 kilometres to the northwest. Many visitors come here for the Szeged National Theater and Gróf Palace. Alternatively, Hodmezovasarhely is 25 kilometres to the northwest of Mako. Head to this place for convenient access to Kossuth Square and Reformed Old Church.

Spend a morning or afternoon visiting Votive Church of Szeged, the Ferenc Mora Museum and the National Pantheon. They are all not far from the middle of Szeged, 25 kilometres away. If you want more, Bridge of Sighs and the Diocesan Museum & Treasury should also be on your to-do list.
