Not Clean!
I found a lot of dust in the room. The worst part is that there was black mold around the bathroom sink. Yuck, I had paid for two nights, but checked out after one. The place isn’t anything like the pretty photographs. The property is located in a sketchy neighborhood. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience.

Charming, North African style hotel near Marseille Centre. Friendly staff and comfortable room. The side street it was on was a little dodgy but there were great restaurants nearby and it’s a short walk to the Vieux Port and to many nice boutiques and cafes. I didn’t feel unsafe walking around at night because I was with my husband and tall son.

Very kind hosts but the place could use a little care. The room was really bare and absolutely no amenities, not even hand soap. There was mold in the mini fridge…. It’s sad because the place has potential and attention was given to décor and interior design that is simple and elegant enough. However, everything else pretty much fails…

Terrible neighborhood, so sketchy and seedy. This area gave us a bad opinion of Marseille until we left the neighborhood and realized the city has so much beauty. The hotel staff were very nice and the hotel had some charming qualities. It was cute inside but be careful if you stay here, it’s rough outside! Not a good place to walk around after dark.

Hotel Riad
Good hotel and lovely staff. We did stay in the superior room. Only hiccup was our taxi did not turn up for our flight back which the hotel organised so probably best to make your own arrangements. However they did their best to resolve this for us. The outside garden at the back was a nice touch.

Location is convenient to tourist sites. Also, there are a bunch of good restaurants within walking distance. The room was adequate but could really use a deep cleaning and does need some maintenance. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We didn’t stay here as planned. The property was advertised as family friendly however is located on a 3-4 block area of brothels. A local person insisted on us following her to the front of the hotel and warned us not to stay there for the area. The hotel may very well be in great condition and accessible to transport; however it is NOT recommended for families. The hotel and Expedia were unwilling to refund us, not even for the second night, even though we cancelled the reservation right away upon arrival.

Great find
We had a very good two night stay. All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly; we sensed they really wanted us to enjoy and appreciate Marseille...and we did. Comfortable beds, nice and spacious room, calm garden. We loved the neighborhood; very close to food, shopping, the old harbor and transport.

Warm welcome and attentiveness throughout our stay from the staff/owners. The hotel features a serene outdoor courtyard where we ate our breakfast in nature and tranquility. The hotel rooms really made me feel as though I was transported to another place and time...This was the most memorable boutique hotel I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Bravo, Hotel Ryad! I will be back.
