You don't need to be stuck inside a car all day to experience some nature. Just 45 kilometres out of Mercy, Charny Fish Pond is a wonderful place to get out into the fresh air. Even more peaceful surrounds are waiting for you at Caves of Arcy-sur-Cure, 50 kilometres away.

Are you interested in stopping at Pontigny Abbey and Bowling Auxerre Aux 2B? They're near the centre of Seignelay, 14 kilometres to the south. Alternatively, you could go to Montigny-la-Resle. It's 19 kilometres to the south of Mercy and popular for Petit Pontigny and the Domaine Bernard Defaix.

Whether it's for shopping or to take in the sights, locals and visitors alike often make the journey to La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne, 25 kilometres to the southeast. The La Chablisienne, the Chateau Long-Depaquit and the William Fevre Grands Vins De Chablis are all close at hand.
