The country's capital, Madrid, lies roughly 420 kilometres to the southeast of Merlan.

Do you fancy spending the day chilling out with the dazzling ocean as your backdrop? Orzan Beach can be found 100 kilometres from Merlan. Sitting 100 kilometres away, Riazor Beach is another tempting option.

Escape on an adventure to some surrounding natural attractions. 35 kilometres out of Merlan, Termas Chavasqueira is waiting to be explored. Gargantas del Sil, 25 kilometres away, is another brilliant place to hang out in the outdoors.

There's nothing like a day spent zooming down the soft, white snow at Manzaneda Ski Area. Find a trail map when you arrive and see how much of the mountain you can conquer!
