What a well kept secret
Hilton Garden Inn Merrillville is a well kept secret. We had a spacious lobby that our group could gather in, quite comfortable and inviting. Although this Hilton does not offer a complementary breakfast they do offer a hot breakfast and microwave and snack options. You will find comfortable beds and a nice , clean bathroom.

Clean but the bed was not comfortable at all.
The room was clean. The issue I had and was surprised is the comfort of the bed was similar to Motel6, I picked Hilton Garden because I used to stay in this hotel in Chicago and bed and pillow were very comfy. I woke up with back pain lasted all day. I had previous injury, and a comfy bed was the reason I picked Hilton Garden based on my previous experience in Chicago. The surrounding of the building like mowing needs some work or maybe it is not part of hotel facility. I will not stay in this hotel again if I travel to Merrillville.

Hotel was nicely appointed, like all hiltons. But they charge for everything including waters, WiFi, and continental breakfast, don’t clean rooms every day, sink leaked until we turned it off at the wall, and noisy by the pool (though that was due to patrons propping door open). Phone didn’t work so couldn’t call the front desk. Just a lot of little things altogether.

Bed was so uncomfortable to be a Hilton. Could feel the springs on the mattress. Room wasn't super clean. Didn't look vacuumed. Sheets were scratchy and blanket wasn't comfortable. Needs major upgrades.

Uncomfortable bed and terrible pillows. I stayed in a Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington this weekend as well and the bed and pillows were the exact same. Dead pillows and a 25 year old spring mattress. I came away from my two stays this week at two different HGI's thinking that they must be struggling as a company. Seems to be on the way out.

I needed to work long hours In the area, so I decided to get a room that was priced right and clean. This hotel room was perfect. It was clean and updated. This room has all the amenities you would need. I would recommend Marriott Garden inn For any travelers in the area.

some of the staff was rude, and unkind. other staff persons were great. cleaning every other night; team was not as helpful with assistance when I was not aware of your cleaning procedures. Needed extra items; had to make continual request to get requested information needed. Night Manager -Billing question Rep was rude -night manager and unpleasant. Room was not vacuumed. The room was not cleaned properly, dusty and dust; hair from previous customers, etc. Hotel located in a great location. Many options for dining outside the property, etc.
