The place is beautiful but is ashamed that they haven’t updated this place the furniture from the rom is al old and dirty the towels and sheets looks gray instead of white.
The hotel looks historic as it has a lot of the architecture style you can find in downtown CDMX. There is a nice rooftop restaurant which is a bonus. I would keep in mind, if you go during a high season of tourism and you need more towels you wont get any if all the rooms were booked. Also after 11 pm the hotel closes their doors. My daughter and I learned this the hard way as we were ringing the doorbell to the hotel and calling the hotel for 30 minutes. The hotel manager was upset we needed to get in. For the whole 30 minutes he was hidden in a room all the way in the back of the hotel. He was no where near the receptionist desk. But the other staff in the hotel are very kind. If it wasnt the bad experience with the hotel manager at night we would of given the review a 4 stars.
Arrived at 1am and the room we booked was not available until the following day. Beds are not comfortable and the windows are not soundproofed and we ended up there 3 nights with heavy noise and massive headaches. Staff were nice and the view was nice. Not really the best experience for a stay in the city.
This hotel was a nice place to stay. It was brightly decorated for the holidays and many landmarks were within walking distance. There were also a lot of great places to eat and shop nearby. I wish our room had a window, it would have made spending time in the room a bit more pleasant.
The only thing that was a little upsetting was that we arrived early. The desk told us we could check in but there would be an additional charge. We told the desk that we would wait until the check in time to check in. When we came back they said they didn't have our rooms ready. That they had one room we selected available but if we wanted to we could get another room but it would be an additional charge. I asked him why we didn't have rooms if they were booked in advance. He said that he may have rooms but they were not ready and he didn't know how much time before they were ready. Once again I asked why they were not ready if they knew we reserved ahead of time and we had arrived hours prior. He said that he would check and try to get our rooms ready as soon as possible. We didn't get our rooms until over half an hour later and nothing was done to make up for the inconvenience.
Aside from that everything else was pleasant.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The unfortunate thing about this property is it is 87 years old and the beds are not comfortable and if your on the plaza side expect to be woken up by yelling and talking and the churches bells. But the location is very well central. Lots of shopping and the food is priced well just stay away from the restaurants that are at the plaza area and upper level very expensive. Can’t expect a 87 year old hotel to be perfect.

It is right in the middle of all the action going on in that area. This is not a quiet hotel, but earplugs muted most of it.
No hot water when needed I asked the receptionist to no avail at least that night and next morning. The Wi Fi unavailable couldn't connect at all during my stay. Towels feel like sandpaper they're old and gray.
Great location hard to park, a lot of traffic around since it is in the heart of downtown , there is a parking lote around the corner kind of expensive there are more less expensive parking if you drive couple of block from that parking lote. Once you get parking it is great location, walkable
