Property is in a convenient location to venues. Check in process was understaffed. Although they had quite a few events going on they were not prepared. Only one person to check in guests. No rooms were ready at check in time. The one check in person was pleasant but just couldnt handle the amount of people checking in by himself.

Nightmare check in. Went to check in and then attend an event after check in. Valet parking was backed up so even getting to entrance was nearly impossible. One we found the doors it was backed up 3 hours wait time or so we were told would have missed event. Loaded luggage back in and came back 5 + hours later fkr another 1 hour wait. 1 desk person, who I felt bad for, once checked in, keys didn't work.we finally got in at midnight when we tried to check in at 5 p

Arrived at 3 for check in for a major concert. Valet parking had one person working and no place to leave car. At least 30 parked any direction. Two hours to get to checkin with one person running the desk. No clean rooms. Finally got a key only to find out someone else was in that room. Waited Another hour and missed most of Steve Miller Band. The front desk individual was great and never lost his cool but the manager never bothered to show up to help at the front desk. There was probably 50 people that gave up, dumped their luggage behind the desk and left for the concert without a room. I had no place to lock up my purse or would have done the same due to restrictions of what u can take into the event.Very poor management knowing its a major event check in, not enough cleaning staff. The room was basic. Fridge shut off. No safe was located for purses

The best part of this hotel is that I wasn't stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes, because their elevators work! (Looking at you, Wyndham). Found this place very very last minute, like as in as we're walking into US Bank Stadium for Metallica on a Friday night after we had the elevator snafu at a previously booked hotel. There is a little sewer kind of smell right when you walk in, but it didn't smell in our room so that was whatever. Everything else was great though! Room was clean, got fresh towels as soon as we asked, breakfast was good, bed and pillows were comfy. Parking situation kind of sucked, but I assume thats just a downtown Minneapolis issue and not that specifically of the hotel. We parked in a public parking ramp and walked to and from the few blocks as we'd come and go. Overall, we'd stay here again, IF we decide on downtown Minneapolis. Admittedly, the streets are confusing, drivers are wild and we much prefer staying outside of the big city.

Tru hotel downtown minneapolis
Stay was good. My only complaint, the pillows weren't the greatest. They could have been fluffier to provide more neck aupport. The bed was comfortable, and the continental breakfast was pretty good. The location was the main reason for choosing the hotel. It is close to Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium. Valet parking was used. The valet workers and hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and would periodically check to see how my stay was going and if there were any issues. A train depot is located a couple blocks away for easy travel around the city

Our favorite part of the stay was our valet. He was friendly and helped us get to our destination. Upon arrival we had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to come to the front desk, even after ringing the bell. Later in the evening, we returned to the desk to notify them that our room phone didn’t work and we didn’t have a remote. It took 15 minutes for someone to return to the counter. I even tried calling and the phone rang with no answer. When the employee finally returned, we were told there was nothing she could do. Checkout went smoothly.

Great staff, excellent breakfast staff! Gentleman was warm, inviting and very accomandating. He has been there awhile and for good reason! He was working the last time we stayed as well. Also, the gentlemen working at the Vallet service were very good!
