Both the bar and the restaurant on the first floor were a real highlight. We had a late night date at the restaurant one night, and breakfast the following morning. Both meals were actually some of the tastiest versions of the food we had had. (Best caesar salad I have had in years, best pancakes, etc)
The hotel front desk staff were not great but not too problematic. A bit useless. We had issues getting the tv netflix sync thing to work and the front desk said they would send someone up and we waited an hour and no one ever came. They never apologized. That was a really boring night TBH and I had drank espresso before dinner, thinking we would stay up late to watch a movie, and then all we could do was just lay there.
I understand a hotel in New Orleans is not the main event of why you are there, you're there to go out and have fun around town-- and we did. But when you run out of steam around 3 and take a nap til 5, then go out again for drinks and dinner, and then come back instead of going out for more fun because it's thunder storming, I just really wanted to watch something on netflix.
The rooms are fine. Ours was neat. The hallway carpet is in bad shape which could give you a bad impression of the place, but again it's a fairly priced hotel in a party city. Rooftop bar/pool was cool but not really open much as we were there in December. We did have an INCREDIBLE bacon lettuce tomato (BLT) sando from the rooftop grill though.
Will stay here again.
