The location of this hotel could not be better. Close enough to the 'action' but not on a busy street. Walkable to many restaurants and night spots. Also walkable to public and tourist transportation (hop on/off bus). Our room was clean and well appointed. There were 3 of us and there was ample space. Another chair and another luggage rack would have been nice but we managed. The only snafu was trying to get extra coffee from the front desk. The first time we asked we were told to get it from the room service person. The second time we asked a different person was more than happy to give us some more pods.
Really close to the hive of the French Quarter, but far enough away to be quiet. Comfortable bed, good amenities in bathroom. Nice decor, a tiny bit tired.
Did not feel entirely safe walking back from Canal St late at night.
I adore the Pelham hotel! This is my second time staying at the Pelham and it is worth the slightly higher than average price for a room. It was clean, modern, gigantic tv, walk-in shower, lovely jazz/blues playing on the bedside radio to greet you as you enter the room. Loved that it is also right by the Ruby Slipper Cafe which has some of the best food I have ever eaten!! (Shrimp and grits are a must try!) The only reason I may not stay again soon at this hotel is if I am trying to find something significantly cheaper. But this hotel is amazing and has a great clean vibe and quiet.

Disliked: Amenities
It was a neat old hotel, and had a historic feel. It says there is a cafe, restaurant and bar, but they are actually next door and only open in the morning. The manager, Kenya was very helpful and nice. The evening shift employees were also, but the girl in the morning definitely was not. We struggled to get warm water for showers and the toilets only flushed half the time.
We were on the first floor so we could hear the people outside yelling. Once the foot trafic slowed down, it wasn't bad. We would have stayed again, but after getting home, I had an extra $14.00 charge on my account and when I called to ask about it, I was told it was for two bottles of water we used. It was my fault for not reading the fine print on the bottles, but it also made me find other accomodations on my next trip and future trips. I don't like being tricked into extra charges, and the bottles were setting by the coffee, making it look like they were complimentary.
