Showering, no matter how long you attempt to run water to warm it, it was lukewarm at best. This was told to staff by multiple people (we spoke to others staying in the hotel) and they stated the same issue and brought it to the staff members.

I wanted to really love this hotel as it is in a great midtown location near Herald Sq. The surrounding areas are lively and safe, with lots of subway access and restaurants/coffe nearby. The hotel offers a wonderfully charming and boutique experience compared to the typical hotel. The building has old world charm. However, it is apparent that this charm comes at a cost as the infrastructure issn't up to par. One night I was awoken by honking cars at street level. The sounds came through crystal clear as if I had a window open, but upon checking the windows were clearly closed. Street level noise came through loud and clear. When opening my closet, the door knob fell right off. When using the shower, a loud vibration noise would come randomly from the wall mid shower. Not everytime, just randomly at certain points during a shower. When this noise happened, I would adjust the shower pressure and the noise would go away. A few light bulbs in my room were burnt out or dimmer. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and the overall hotel was clean. Wifi was blazing fast and stable. There is a cafe on ground floor that offers guest one free drink each day (I did not partake). There are two small elevators that can be slow when it is busy.

Had a great stay at Life Hotel (2 guests for 7 nights in Oct 2024). Hotel was clean, comfortable, centrally located, and with very nice staff. Free coffee amenity was lovely King bed room was tight and no space to unpack luggage but had many hangers in small closet Wish decor had more Life Magazine images instead of generic pop art Would recommend this hotel to other travelers

The hotel staff were really helpful. Location was great too. Rooms were clean and bed very comfortable. Negative points - the rooms were completely dark when lights off. We had two rooms on the ground floor with no natural light ( I think window was into another internal area but the shutters weren’t working) and you couldn’t open windows so dependant on very old noisy AC. Restaurant not open which was a shame.

When I booked the room, I thought it looked like a simple, clean NYC apt (i.e., basics, no-frills, but tidy and well-maintained). Overall, the room was clean enough though one of the bath towels had tons of hair on them, which was more than off-putting. Also, the towel rack in the shower broke - and the one on the bathroom door was exceptionally high up and not exactly practical for anyone on the shorter side. While I couldn't hear my neighbors (thankfully), I could hear the hotel staff in the morning bustling about in the hallways, which made it very difficult to sleep. Although the location is central and the price is fairly reasonable, I sadly would not recommend this hotel.

10/10 room and service. We loved the balcony on the 10th floor. The room and bathroom were gorgeous and spotless. We had a prime location, k-town is only a street away and easy access to subways. My favorite spot to stay in NYC. Will book with Life Hotel again!
