The hotel has obviously had its best days. Basically, we can say that we were very dissatisfied, except for the location.
What was explicitly bad?
- On arrival, my family had to wait 2 hours for me to arrive so we could all be accommodated. Even though the stay was guaranteed by my credit card (at least the first night) through Expedia.com, they did not accommodate because they did not have a credit card to present at the front desk. Embarrassing, after a 14 hour flight to New York
- the first room we got was on the level of an old and dirty 2 star hotel, the second, after complaints addressed with the hotel manager was a little better but still on the level of a 3 star
- Breakfast? A mockery and a disaster. There was no cold buffet on offer at all, something like ham, salami, cheese, nothing ... coffee to vomit, serving in plastic containers, horror of horrors
- the lifts either didn't run or were so crowded that we preferred to take the stairs when there was no other option. In one of the four elevators, they couldn't even push the buttons for each floor.
We don't sleep less on our vacations as a matter of principle than we do in four-star accommodations, but I have to say that few hostels have a higher level of service and accommodation than this one. Too bad, it pretty much ruined our trip to New York. The Marriott brand, I think, is being damaged considerably by this.
In conclusion, I have to commend the hotel manager for being interested in addressing the situation
