Delightful stay at the Moderne Hotel! Comfortable, clean room with a modern design and friendly front desk staff. Walkable to Broadway, Times Square, Central Park, and more, but on a quiet side street. Would certainly return!

Overbooked hotel then blame guests Nightmare , arrived at 7pm and got told that my booking was cancelled by Expedia . I never booked with Expedia. The reason my room was cancelled was blamed on hotels.com. I was meant to get a cancellation message from hotel.com . This never came . I asked for any proof that the booking was cancelled by hotel.com they declined to show me . I was told to leave and find and find a solution to this nightmare with Expedia. The manager said she has nothing to do with 3rd parties and did not even have my contact details even though I booked 8 months ago . The cancellation was never confirmed or communicated to me . Manager said you should have booked direct with them. The hotel has 3 steps to the door and no step free access. Had to lift all the suits cases up and down No parking at the front of the hotel to drop off your bags . Had to go the car park . Got charged 30 dollars for the 30 something minutes I was arguing with the manager .

Upon arriving at the property, I was told the room I reserved and paid for was unavailable due to overbooking. I was given a suite in a nearby sister property (very nice!), so I can't comment on this hotel, but I cant recommend a hotel that overbooks and cancels reservations without notice (in the dead of August, no less).

A wonderful first stay
I had a wonderful first day at Hotel Moderne. Upon check-in the receptionist let me know that they upgraded my room and they were gracious to extend my check out by one hour. The hotel was very clean, the bed comfortable, and very conveniently located near Columbus Circle.

Great location, great price. Staff was fantastic, especially front desk. Room was clean & comfy, but really small, window looked out to a brick wall ado pretty much non-existent and no outside light. Bathroom recently renovated. Fortunately there’s a guest suite on the floor with a big table, sofa, chairs, etc… also with coffee, ice water etc Convenient to theatres, Times Square, Central Park. Super walkable.

Renovated rooms are small but have everything you need and they are CLEAN! They also have a nice guest lounge that I was able to get coffee and a few hours of work done. Great stay! Staff is great!

Great hotel in a great location! Near lots of good restaurants and shopping! Decor was very cool and funky! My room was so spacious and very clean! Loved the free coffee and tea in the guest lounge and the staff were so nice and helpful! Would definitely recommend and I will certainly be staying there on my next trip to NYC!

We loved the room, very spacious and clean! They even had a nice sitting place with free coffee and tea on the second floor. It was wonderful to have affordable parking right next to the hotel too. The hotel was in walking distance to time square, restaurants and stores! We definitely being staying here again!

This is the most PERFECT place to stay in Manhattan! I cannot say enough good things about it. It is a quaint boutique hotel. The staff are the most amazing people who care about the customers stay as well as the property. Everyone we had contact went above and beyond in their service. We brought our family of six and book 2 kings and a suite. Rooms are small, comfortable, clean and had all the amenities. Because it’s a small hotel, the staff knew who we were what rooms we were in and could assist us with needs. They arranged transportation for us to the airport which was also first rate. I could go on and on just about them. In Addition you are half way between time square and Central Park. And food options??? Look no further as some of the best food we’ve eaten just outside the hotel. Choices galore!! Indian, Chinese, Irish, Mexican, Cuban, Japanese, Bar food, Italian, Thai, Pizza by the slice…IF you can get in this place take it. I will make a note to not oversell those looking for pools, room service type places…this is not that place. It reminded me of a boutique hotel we stay in in Paris.

Satisfied customers!
We stayed at this hotel a few days during our vacation in NYC. The location is very convenient, close to good restaurants, central park, time square, etc. Parking was also very convenient and stress free. Members of the staff were helpful and kind. We even got a free room upgrade which was very appreciated. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. They are mo restaurants or bar in the hotel, but you can get deals from neighbouring establishments. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Nice-sized (for NYC) comfortable and quiet room at a reasonable rate. Close to Central Park, MOMA, and other Midtown sights. The a/c didn’t work very well, but if the hotel provided lightweight blankets, that wouldn’t be an issue. Overall, a nice place to stay!
