Lovely, well proportioned rooms. Not all of this type of large house ever get warm and comfortable, but even with the very poor Autumn weather we found it to be most comfortable and warm.
The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food was well presented and of an excellent standard.
We stayed two nights the room was clean and comfortable. The food was amazing and well presented and the staff was so friendly and went out of there way to help. Would definitely stay again
A lovely setting and nice sized rooms but had a dreadful night sleep. We were in room 8 and it wasn't until bed time we found the mattress on the right hand size totally collapsed and flat. Also, the shower head was filthy. We told the receptionist upon checking out and she did speak with the manager who gave us a small amount off the bill. Also, be aware they add £10 onto each room cost as a tip for the staff. I asked for this to be removed and they did but really not happy that they have chosen to do this.
It was a real shame as we were so looking forward to staying here. The receptionist did say housekeeping would look into the things we raised, so hopefully this will be resolved for the next guests.
Just a one night stay, it is a very quiet location.... the extremely noisy plumbing when the toilet was flushed was a huge distraction however. Also, I wasn't impressed with gratuity that was applied on check out. Overall acceptable.
We loved this hotel for its character and history. The setting and the views were lovely and our room was very comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. I feel sure we will return.
