Romantic Accommodation in Ocean Beach

Gave an extended weekend trip to my sister and brother in law for their 59th birthdays. They had an amazing relaxing time. They are repeat visitors at the Palms because it is second to none on Ocean Beach. Bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas provided making it stress free. Staff is always accommodating including assisting with luggage at the dock. They took their own boat and the staff still met them and assisted. They had one glitch, the AC in their room suddenly went out (which is unfortunate but it happens). With no stress, they were moved to a cottage which was a substantial upgrade. Management is all about customer service. Highly recommend a stay.

For several years our family-now numbering 13 people, from infants to 82, plus dogs-have taken long weekend vacations every October on Fire Island. We like the communities of Ocean Beach and Seaview because stores and restaurants are open, and there’s a terrific market in Seaview. Our search Focused on number of bedrooms and baths, with excellent reviews. Quite quickly we decided that Beach Bungalow in OB was perfect for us. We had some questions about bed setups and had easy and excellent communication with John, the owner. Arriving at the house was easy as it is fairly close to the ferry, something that was important for those of us who were older. The house did not disappoint. It is lovely and well maintained. The bedrooms are on the lower level, with the living room, kitchen and dining upstairs. However, the bedrooms have plenty of light because you actually have a flight of stairs (or a ramp for wheeled access) up from the ground. Everything worked well, and was very clean-spotless as a matter of fact! When you’re just coming for a long weekend, that’s very important that the house is well appointed and so clean that you can just come in with your bags and not worry about anything...we could just head for the beach. We loved the location, but the home was loaded with spiders, most appliances did not work (dishwasher did not work, blender, toaster oven, the stove top only half worked) - plus the pots were scratched (and with Teflon not useable) The shower door was broken and would not close, the toilet paper roll holder had no dowel to hold roll, toilet seat very loose, door frames were chipped and dirty, hold in wall next the bed in room with bunkbeds, laundry closet had missing doors.

We had amazing stay for a long weekend this summer! The host was very easy to communicate with and also very kind and accommodating to a special need we had regarding a one year old. The house was very clean and the location was perfect. Would absolutely want to stay here again

It was as cute as it looked on-line and gave us a great space for hanging out and enjoying each other's company. That said, I would recommend that you rent this with loved ones as privacy is limited because of the indoor design. With no insulation or dry wall every noise is heard throughout the house! Other nice surprises: new AC units (very quiet), very comfortable beds, and an outdoor shower with good light. The street is very quiet. I was surprised that basic kitchen supplies weren't included (foil, Saran Wrap, basic seasonings, etc). Easy enough to fix, but having such a short stay, I would have brought these things along with me if I new they wouldn't be there. The property manager was very responsive with our two little problems (no frying pans without chipped teflon and the grill was dirty). Overall a great stay and we would definitely consider renting again.

We stayed one night and this hotel was awesome. First, they allow a 11:30 am check in which is rare. We were visiting friends so we dropped bags off and came back late night but it was convenient be able to do so. The room was immaculate and even though the bathrooms are shared, you get the full bathroom to yourself when you use it. The location is great just outside the ferry terminal. It’s very loud at night but we brought earplugs. Most importantly, staff are very friendly and held on to our bags until 2 pm the next day. They also offer coffee, fruits and pastry bites which was unexpected. In conclusion, well worth the money and I highly recommend.
