Love to come here again soon
This is such a beautiful Onsen with an incredibly kind staff. We took a gamble in coming up to Tendo during our 2.5 week trip to Japan, and this stay easily became the highlight of our trip.
We stayed in the suite with a hot tub in the balcony, and the room was spacious, clean, and traditional. The breakfast had a variety of choices, and the dinner (separate charge) was delicious with locally sourced food. Give this place a try, you’ll feel refreshed after your stay!
Excellent service and a great overall experience. The room was everything you could wish for, spacious, clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast selection was delicious and they even have a spot for making onsen eggs!
Very please with their services. With the help at the tourist information counter, a very friendly lady, helped us to call the hotel to pick us at the station. They even service us to the station when we check out. Overall would recommend.
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Friendly and accomodating staff.
The in door hot spring is huge and comfortable. I was able to relax to my heart's content. The outside bath is smaller but still nice.
The breakfast at the hotel is delicious. We were late to breakfast but the staff still set up a plate for us, which my family was very thankful for. Make sure to try the hot spring egg.
I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Tendo city.
It was really good. The staff couldn't seem to do enough to accommodate us when we arrived. Really friendly.
Only thing, I find futons uncomfortable to sleep on but apart from that everything was great.
Excellent hotel, very attentive staff, real omotenashi service. The facilities are sometimes old or worn out and unfortunately lot of the facilities were closed due to COVID-19 (was difficult to find logic in that). The rrom is spacious and convenient. The food is excellent, real washoku breakfast. The onsen is spacious and beautiful. The top is the inner garden, which is stunning. Good location, have a beautiful park and a great museum next door. Lots of great eating places around. Yamagata city is close.
This hotel is about one hour away from Ginzan Onsen. There is only a small little pool located outdoor. The room was kind old. But the people in front desk are very nice. The hotel provided shuttle between hotel and train station.
Room was spacious and clean. Hot spring was nice.
We included dinner in our plan. Because of allergies we each have I called ahead of time to inform detail. They accommodated graciously. 1000 yen extra for special order was worth it. It was so wonderful and delicious, beautifully done in Japanese style in private room. It was the best meal on this trip. I’m vegan and gf free, other has peanut allergy. I highly recommend. There is a kids play area my ground child enjoyed. Good breakfast buffet. Highly recommended!
Wonderful service. We stayed in many different hotels in Japan and this by far has the best service. The breakfast and dinner are wonderful. My kids loved them. Breakfast selection is hugh and it was the best breakfast ever. It is too bad that we only stay one night. My wife already plan to visit Japan again and next time we will stay longer.
Negatives:
The town seems to have nothing special to do.
Carpet seems old, but this did not bother us
