What I didn’t like on this hotel property is their room space. Quite tight. What I like on this hotel is their staff, very accommodating and easy to ask. Location is very accessible and lots of shops nearby.

First night we were sent to a single bedded room when we (2 female friends) had requested two beds many times.It was a tiny room with no drawers at all, toilet kept flushing all day and night--noise kept us awake all night. Next day, instead of heading out to start our planned day we had to pack up everything--toiletries, etc.--so they could move us to a slightly larger room where there was a third bed which took up a lot of room. Phone was broken and they promised us each day that it would be repaired. One night a woman next door was screaming all night and we could not call the front desk to take care of it as we had no phone, a very dangerous situation. Again no drawers at all--just one narrow closet with limited hangers for two women to hang clothes. Had to live out of the suitcase for a full week. My friend and I are 86 years old; there was no bar in the shower, no place to hold on. Two bottles of shampoo were attached to wall, had to pump by stretching high up--no soap, only shampoo. A bottle of liquid soap was on the sink counter, but could not be removed for use in the shower. Thermostat was broken, room was exceedingly hot. Small refrigerator was in a corner with a chair in front and that chair had to be moved back and forth to get to it. Actually it could only be moved a few inches with limited room. There was only one person at desk each day and that person had to frequently leave when called away. PRICE CHARGED WAS MORE THAN OTHERS PAID. WE ASKED AROUND.

The rooms are horrible and small. The room was shaking all day from the underground train. The bed is very small and not comfortable. Very bad experience.

I got a balcony and early check in which was fantastic. Great location. Very loud outside and drilling even at 11:30pm! Ambulances, the whole bit. Otherwise I slept pretty well considering. Clean rooms, perfect for one person.

The room was nice with an updated bathroom and very good air conditioning. This property should NOT advertise that they have a bar. They do not. They have an unmanned counter at the back of the lobby with water dispensers and they will pour you a wine or a beer if requested and they also use it for storing all the luggage. When single travelers seek a hotel with a bar, they are expecting a full service bar, where guests can relax and meet people. This is not that in any way. It is very misleading to advertise this as a bar and I was quite disappointed to not have a place to relax and socialize after sightseeing. On my first day I asked if there was a decaf option for the coffee maker. The lady assured me she would find out and let me know. 4 days later and I never heard from her again. So, I would say the customer service needs work.

We were in Paris for just 2-days & 3-nights and wanted somewhere reasonably priced and convenient to the metro and, hopefully, not to far from some Parisian attractions. The Excelsior filled the bill for us. The room was immaculate. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The metro station was a block away and the Opera was 3 blocks. Two nice cages where across the street with excellent breakfasts. It will be a serious consideration on our next trip to Paris

Room was as expected, small but clean. Bathroom sink drain very slow . Nice balcony on 5th floor, but elevator broke the 1st day and we climbed 5 flights of stairs the rest of our 3 day trip. Was never told that free breakfast was offered on the last day until checkout. Had already purchased elsewhere at that point; no comp was offered. Staff nice, but poor communication kept this from being a better experience.

Very good location, perhaps 2 minutes from L’Opera and Galeries Lafayette if you like shopping! Room spotlessly clean and has everything you need. Very good selection of restaurants nearby - Paul & Julienne almost opposite is wonderful and very well priced. Will definitely return!
