AVOID ROOM NUMBER 10 - Unsafe, no ventilation and smells
“Deluxe Quadruple Room (Family)” it’s definitely not. Think more Harry Potter ‘Room Under The Stairs’.
No privacy, unsafe, damp, smelled and little space for 4 people.
Small room on the ground floor, literally under the stairs, with its one window opening into the central courtyard. So there’s no privacy unless you close the curtains and sit in darkness. Also there’s no bars or shutters so it’s not safe to leave the window open at night, especially with the kids sleeping under the window. The courtyard door doesn’t lock so there is direct street access into the room when the window is open.
The room smells because there is no ventilation - no fan in the bathroom and the heating was locked at 22C. The reception team made excuses like it was the first time this had happened, however they couldn’t unlock the air con and ended up having to turn off the air con/heating system for the whole hotel.
Cleanliness needs improving as well, we had our bag wheels sprayed for bed bugs in the dining room entrance. The carpet in the room felt damp - it had either recently been cleaned or it was a result of the lack of ventilation in the room.
The staff either had limited ability or little interest to help resolve the situation. The service at breakfast had plenty of room for improvement.
The only saving grace was that the beds were comfy - but no, I won’t be staying here again.
