As a mother traveling with my family of four, our experience at Novotel Paris Les Halles was appalling. The rooms were stiflingly hot, with no AC and no ventilation, not even in the bathroom. Opening the window only brought noise from screaming people at night and construction during the day. Staff offered no real solutions, and another couple also complained about their uncomfortably hot room, saying they were “paying an arm and a leg” for such conditions.
The room was filthy—we found a pill near the window and trash under the bed. Housekeeping was a joke. Despite requesting a cleaning early in the morning, our room wasn’t touched until late afternoon, and even then, the beds were made with the same linens, the sink and bathroom weren’t cleaned, and toilet paper wasn’t replaced.
Staff behavior was humiliating. One employee mocked us openly, laughing and saying, “Here they are! Room 606!” every time we entered the lobby. It was demeaning and unprofessional, making us feel unwelcome.
The glass shower wall, which didn’t fully turn opaque, offered no privacy and was inappropriate for families. Basic amenities like water were inadequate—two tiny bottles for four people for a five-night stay, with rude refusals for more.
This hotel is a disgrace to the Novotel brand. Avoid it at all costs.
