I really loved to stayed at this place, it had an amazing lobby that makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. The only down side is that they don’t offer free parking for guest only valet which is $9 per hour and about $50 something for overnight if I’m not mistaken however, there is garage parking walking distance for self parking for $28 overnight. The room that we stayed was very basic room in the 8th floor with a view to the city nothing else exciting. Other then that I enjoyed my stay in The Benson Hotel.

They require you to request house keeping. Even after we did our room was not serviced the first time. No explanation for why. I had to speak with the front desk very sternly to make sure it did not happen again during our stay. Ever since the pandemic hotels have raised prices considerably while offering lower levels of service, shirking their responsibilities and are taking guests for granted.

Old world charm
The Benson has a lovely old world traditional feeling. Large lobby and friendly staff. The restaurant is small in the corner of the lobby, and the selection is good for most.

Beautiful lobby. Excellent service with a very smooth check in and checkout. For such a historic hotel, was a little disappointed about the more modern rooms with faux fur pillows. Overall, a nice stay.

Nice hotel in Great Location
Nice, clean hotel in good location. Staff was friendly. I received a text within an hour of check-in to make sure I was good. Only downside was that the view in our room on 3rd floor was that of the dumpster area. We were only there for one night so no big deal - not worth making a fuss. Otherwise, stay was great.

Unfortunately I had much higher expectations for this hotel, based on prior reviews and cost per night. As other reviewers have stated the service was not great. The people outside as soon as they heard we were not going to valet with them, they didn’t offer to help with the bags or anything else (I might add I am 7 months pregnant). The same with the front desk staff. Check in was good, however, I asked for utensils one night and they didn’t have “enough staff” so I had to go down to get it, same with every food delivery, which in a 4 star hotel you wouldn’t expect to have to deal with. The room was very very small, as well as the bathroom which also has no ventilation. Cleanliness was good, and location is also not bad. However, overall it was a disappointing experience

There was a lot of commotion out side with homeless people...not the safest area. Awe water to pay by cash but cash was not accepted at check in and it turned into a big hassle! Cash!!!! guaranteed money!
