The first room we were assigned to was beyond horrible. This was due to the run down condition of the unit, refrigerator that kept breaking down and wasn't working when we got the room and horrible beds. Noise due to location of the room next to the motorcycle parking, concrete saw next door property kept us up all night. We had to pay a couple hundred dollars to upgrade to a very nice room so that we could at least get some sleep. It was quite the ordeal to get the upgrade. On the 4th day we were able to move from the horrible room to the nice room. That made all the difference in our vacation experience there, and we enjoyed ourselves the last 4 days. We also paid a deposit of $5,000. pesos so we could charge to our room. After our dinner there, they told us in the restaurant we couldn't I showed them the receipt for what I paid and they allowed it. A lot of that kind of stuff happened. However, when my husband forgot his wedding ring in the first room we were in and moved to the upgraded room, the cleaning person turned in his ring. A big shout out and gratitude to that cleaning person. When we checked out, I checked with the front desk to see if it had been found because my husband had let them know it was lost. They never let us know that it had been found, but they did give it to us when we asked about it. We like the place, but had mixed feelings about it as well. Our son and daughter in law had no issues at all. It helped that she speaks spanish.
