Our stay started off poorly with a frustrating check-in process. The front desk agent repeatedly questioned if I had just arrived, going back and forth between the desk and back office without providing any explanation. Despite having completed online check-in and showing confirmation, I was asked for my documents again with no clarity on what was wrong. This lack of communication set a negative tone.
The room itself could use updates, as it felt outdated. Our door handle was broken, leaving us trapped inside until a family member helped us get out. Reporting the issue multiple times to different staff members didn’t expedite the repair, which was incredibly frustrating.
Guest service was disappointing, with noticeable preferential treatment for foreign guests. As a native of the Dominican Republic, I couldn’t help but feel overlooked. For instance, a waiter provided excellent service to a nearby Caucasian family while we were left waiting for assistance.
Housekeeping was fine until the last day. I returned to my room around 4 PM, and despite having the service sign on the door, the bed hadn’t been made. When the housekeeper knocked, I assumed she’d clean the room, but she looked at me and said, “At this time?” I called the front desk, only to be told that service wasn’t limited to mornings, but I just requested extra towels to avoid further frustration.
