About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

A spacious apartment with a glorious private terrace in the heart of Rome.

Danza is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment well located in the heart of one of Rome's most loved historic centers near Piazza Navona. Guests can enjoy walking to many Rome attractions, including the Vatican, the Colosseum, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, as well as shopping along Via Giubbonari and Via Coronari.
The apartment is on the top floor of a small 1700's apartment building with wonderful views from the rooftop terrace as well as 'Juliet' balconies off the living and dining rooms. The building has a small elevator to the top floor as well as an original stairwell. Danza is comfortable with a casual simple style of decor, very spacious and well laid out. Another original feature is the lovely terracotta floors.
The apartment has an open entry foyer. The large living room is immediately to the left. French doors at the far end enhance the room. From the living room enjoy views of the side of the church and the ever-changing scene down below of this small, inviting piazza.
The living room is casually furnished with a sofa, two upholstered chairs, glass coffee table. It is a sunny, well laid-out, appealing terraced apartment a super-central location. To the right of the living room step into the full dining room, with its wonderful original checkerboard tiles. It's nice that they've been preserved as the add a special touch to the room.
The attractive kitchen has handsome honed marble countertops, a large stone farmhouse sink maintain the apartment's authentic character. The kitchen has a small table with seating for two. A large window admits lots of light. There is a full refrigerator, freezer section, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
Off the living room is the first bedroom. The bedrooms are towards the back of the apartment, facing away from the street, a good feature in a thriving city like Rome where street noise from passersby and motor scooters is a given. It has 2 single beds that can be joined to form a queen-sized bed. Built-in closets and cupboards line one wall providing lots of storage for clothes, luggage. There is a small window above the beds. The en suite bathroom has a sink, shower and toilet.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the quiet back-building area and rooftops. There is an antique dresser and small closet. Just outside this bedroom is the second bathroom with a bathtub with shower, sink, toilet. A small eyebrow window over the tub is a cute feature.
If your interest in the Danza apartment isn't already piqued, here comes the best part. The terrace! Straight ahead off the entry foyer is a stairway leading up to a small open office area (who can work with views like these?) which leads out to the enchanting terrace. Imagine starting your day in Rome with a cup of espresso, the sound of seagulls flying overhead and views of Roman rooftops and church domes! Can you figure out the churches for the five domes you can see from the terrace? There is a patio table with seating for four. The canvas awing provides shade. In the evening wander back upstairs for cocktail hour and enjoy the sounds of church bells tolling at sunset or watch waves of tiny swallows swooping and diving through the sky at twilight.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned apartment, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
This smoke-free apartment offers books.
Guests will find features like internet access.

Loved the terrace!
My husband and I stayed at this apartment with another couple for 5 nights in early October. The check-in process was easy and our host was very helpful. The apartment is quite spacious and had everything we needed. The shining star of this property is the rooftop terrace and stunning views. The one thing that I didn’t love was that the toilet in the main bedroom was in the shower. But better to have it that way than not at all! We had a great time and would stay again.

Location, Location, Location!
I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wanting to walk around Rome. 4 of us stayed at this top floor unit with a roof deck for relaxing and looking at the beautiful sights of central Rome. It has plenty of room and a floor plan that worked out perfect. The highlight was being able to walk to all the major attractions. Don’t pass on this one.

Rome on the quiet side of town.... Excellent Location
The apartment was located on a quiet street but just minutes away from the "Chaos of Rome" that we came here to experience. Francesca was our "Greeter" and did an excellent job and was very helpful... communicated well. She coordinated airport transfers and suggested numerous restaurants that were favored by the locals. The nearby Trastevere area has many exceptional dining options and an active nightlife. The apartment was a very good value for the money... would definitely rent this apartment again. Thank you Francesca and Silvana

Apartment in Rome
We were disappointed in the accommodations since the online pictures didn’t quite represent the reality. The bathrooms were not clean - eg mold on wall, broken nozzle on shower, dirty floor. The outdoor space was never used by us since the views left alot to be desired. The number of steps up and down into the living areas bedrooms and bathrooms were a tripping hazard.

Very accommodating, perfect location, beautiful apartment
This was a perfectly smooth interaction, both with the host and the manager (who is wonderful, by the way). I am a landlord of 25 years and I’ve been hire her in a second if she ever came to the US. Thank you for a lovely stay. This is a perfect location to walk to the most beautiful parts of Rome and the apartment is great. Thank you so much will definitely refer you to others!!

Great Apartment, Great Location
We stayed in this apartment for a week in August with four people, two adults and two kids. The host was great with communication, and made check in very smooth. They offered a transfer from FCO which we used. Driver was waiting for us outside of baggage claim. It was about 10 or 15 euro more than a taxi, but convenience was worth that for us. The apartment was clean when we checked in, and was as described in the listing. The location was perfect. A 2 minute walk to trastevere, across ponte sisto. It was great having direct access to trastevere but staying in a quiet corner. Absolutely no street noise. It was hot when we were there. Between 95 and 100 degrees F. The two minisplit AC units kept it very cool in the apartment. Osteria romana di simmi around the corner was the best meal we had in Rome. The gelato place Alberto Pica around the other corner was also excellent. This apartment is a third floor walk up (three flights of stairs). There is a small elevator but it may not be practical for a guest who isn't comfortable walking the stairs. Overall, I highly recommend this property.

Perfect Roman vacation
Overall amazing experience for my first vrbo abroad. Communication with the manager was excellent and Francesca responded quickly to any questions during the stay. Be aware the apt is on top floor of small and steep staircase or u can take small elwvator which fits one person. Apt was as clean and as described. Excellent location just out of the craziness of tourist areas but close enough to easily walk to all major spots. Lots of great restaurants and cafes in walking distance. Loved the terrace for coffee in am or a drink in the evening. Hope to stay again in the near future.

Coonfortable stay
The apartment was well located in the city and most things were easily reached with in a maximum 20 minute walk or short taxi ride to Vatican and Coliseum. Apartment was spacious, clean and has all the needed amenities but is starting to look tired - the bathrooms are in need of updating as they are dingy and poor lighting. There is a small elevator as the apartment is on the top floor which was ideal since we had been traveling for 4 weeks and each had a large suitcase which would have been challenging to carry up the 5 flights of stairs. The elevator is small (one person and two suitcases only) so it took 2 trips up with suitcases and 2 of us walked the stairs with our carry-on bags. Air-conditioning is available and was appreciated on a couple of the warmer days. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed and some basic supplies such as coffee, sugar etc. Lots of restaruants nearby so great for dinners etc.

Not great
When we entered the middle bedroom, it had a profound smell of urine. It was so bad I actually bought disinfectant and scrubbed the toilet which was dirty under the rim, and around the base. The floors of the showers were dirty also. No bath mats for a flooded shower, had to call for them. They were delivered with Prosecco, and a couple more towels. The smell was still present, and now wonder if it was the mattress that smelled. Lots of padding on one of the twin beds. The owner said the smell was made from the disinfectant used. Absurd. Windows were dirty, freezer drawer had something brown frozen to it. Lettuce in the sink, and fridge and microwave not clean. We nicknamed the property the pee pee house. Nice square close by with farmers market, and restaurants. Walked to most sites.

Perfect Rome Apartment
Beautiful apartment in Rome that had everything we needed & more! Great location…. Walkable to everything. Very comfortable beds & tasteful decor. When we were in Rome, it was HOT!! But the air conditioning in the apartment was exceptional, so it was an excellent retreat between sightseeing & dining out. Francesca met us to check in the the apartment & gave us numerous recommendations about restaurants & other important neighborhood details. Also helped us with info about taxi service back to the airport. Overall, we loved this apartment! Felt like a local living experience that you couldn’t get staying in a hotel.

Charming place in the best location
This property gets 5 stars for location and atmosphere. It's a lovely, older apartment on a fairly quiet street, and is within walking distance of almost everything you'll want to visit while you're in Rome. With many restaurants, cafes, and two small grocery stores within a 5-minute walk, you'll truly feel like you're living like a local while here. As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to walk up several floors to get to the apartment. There's a tiny, slow elevator that can fit one large person and one large suitcase, so if you're worn out after a day of sightseeing you can use that. The only real downsides: There's a washing machine but no dryer (drying racks appear to be the norm in Rome). The AC works well, but there's one unit that serves both the living room and the adjoining bedroom, so if you want to close the bedroom door for privacy you have to shut out the cool air. The second bathroom is tiny and it's difficult to use the shower in there, so we typically used only the main bathroom shower. During very hot days, the terrace is comfortable only in the morning or late at night. Aside from these minor complaints, we loved our stay here.

Lovely apartment with an excellent location
My family and I (two adults, one teen) stayed for nine days over March Break and highly recommend this apartment. We would rent it again and will recommend it to anyone we know travelling to Rome. Its location is fantastic and we could walk everywhere. Despite being in the heart of the city, it's on a quiet street, tucked away from the bustle of the really busy tourist areas. A supermarket (Carrefour) and an excellent bakery (Riscoli) are conveniently nearby. The apartment is as advertised and photos on the website accurately show the accommodations. It is clean and the kitchen is small but well-equipped, although we didn't have any meals at home other than breakfast. There were too many good restaurants nearby! We made excellent use of the rooftop terrace, which is private and lovely. It also has an awning that covers the table and chairs, and while we didn't need it as it was spring when we were there, it will provide good shade during hotter times of the year. The windows in the living room and dining room are large and we often had them open when we were home. I communicated with Sylvana regarding booking the apartment and she was easy to deal with and returned messages promptly. Francesca met us at the apartment when we arrived -- she was lovely and had good recommendations for the area. As other reviewers have noted, there are about 10 steps from the small, slow elevator to the apartment door. We generally just used the stairs and didn't use the elevator except to transport our luggage. The apartment itself has some steps up and down between rooms and the terrace is located up a set of stairs. We did not find any of the stairs and steps inconvenient but they may be a consideration for those with mobility concerns. All in all, we highly recommend this apartment. We really enjoyed our stay there and are missing Rome already.

Wonderful location and nice apartment
We generally agree with the previous reviews but as four adults in our 70’s we have a somewhat different perspective. The apartment is pleasant and generally clean. The description on the website is accurate. The location is excellent, walking in this neighborhood is wonderful, even late in the evening. The check-in process was supportive, and the host is helpful. The building has an elevator, but we usually walked up the 63 steps as the elevator is small and slow. The beds are comfortable. The washer works. However, in the en suite bathroom, the shower and toilet face each other on a raised platform under a slanted roof – you must learn not to stand up quickly to avoid headaches. That shower drains onto the floor of the bathroom - messy and not safe. The walk from the other bedroom to the 2nd bathroom involves a step down/up. Indeed, almost every transition from one room to another requires a step up or down – understand that this is not something that can be fixed in this historic apartment, just a comment. We give a 4-star rating as more attention to details of comfort and the utility of the kitchen are necessary for a 5-star VRBO rental (bathroom 'cabinets' that work for 2 adults; extra towels and bathmats, stable microwave platform, a few sharp knives, matching wine and water glasses, adequate basic supplies such as coffee filters, dish towels, etc.). Overall, we loved the neighborhood, appreciated the host and staff, and enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Our recommendation is positive, with the caveats noted.

Spacious, well-situated apartment
First off, the important basics are rock solid here - the WiFi and air conditioning work great. As do the kitchen appliances, bathrooms and showers. The checkin process was seamless and the host is helpful. The building has an elevator but we ended up walking up the 3 flights of stairs most days (the elevator can carry basically one person at a time and moved slowly). The apartment is spacious and your group can spread out in the living room, dining room, terrace or bedrooms. The views from the terrace are lovely and it’s a great place to have a nightcap after a long day of Rome tourism. The vibe of the apartment is both rustic and modern/clean. White, pretty furniture with old-school tiled floors and impressive raw timber ceilings. The location is in the middle of a triangle between Campo de’ Fiori, the Jewish ghetto and the Garibaldi bridge into Trastevere. Ideal for good restaurants. If you are a walker, you can get to almost every notable site within 30 minutes, including the Vatican and Colosseum. The entry into the apartment however is not much to look at - sort of tucked into an alley. Overall we were satisfied with our stay and would recommend it to others.
