Greeted by the lovely Zita! She showed us around & how to get in & out of our room. So handy to Eat Street & Sir Howard Morrison Entertainment Ctr, parking a breeze & free! Lovely wairua at this place, we will be back one day. Good price, no frills, clean & tidy.. it was perfect for us! Thank you M & M from Ruakaka Northland

Will not recommend as this property is not well maintained for accomodation. The only thing which was positive about this property was provided parking and convenient as located in central location.

The room they put is in was directly over the bar area downstairs. They failed to mention upon check in that they would be having a live band donlwnstairs playing until midnight. The stage was directly beneath our room so absolutely no sleep was had until after midnight.

This accommodation is advertised as a 'club', however it is not like any club in Australia but more of a pub. How it managed to get an 8/10 rating I have no idea. The entry is located around the back, reception was unmanned, check-in was via pressing a button and waiting for bar staff to let you through locked doors that open onto pool table area with many men staring as you enter. The worst aspect was the smell and the carpet that you stick to. Fortunately I requested to view the room prior to check-in. It was not for me. I couldn't see myself putting up with the smell for four nights. The rooms are so dated that all the cleaning in the world wouldn't make a difference. Whilst searching on my phone for alternative accommodation I was abused by reception staff and 'told' that I had to stay or be financially penalised. So patronising to a potential guest (62 yr old woman). If you want cheap this is it.

Terrible experience couldn’t even check in. Messaged our arrival time of 6pm. When arrived called the number on the door multiple times and had Expedia call. No one answered. Finally had to rent an Airbnb last minute. Still haven’t received my money back. No communication on check in or that the building is closed on Monday when I messaged about check in. Expedia is no help and despite also calling said they wouldn’t give me my money back. Didn’t see the inside but looked pretty crappy from the outside. If want to be stranded with no cell service in the rain trying to figure out a new place to stay can try on here. Otherwise would definitely avoid.
