The owners operate the pension so it is well run. They are friendly and personable and want to ensure your best experience. The city bus stops at the address coming and going and therefore easy to get to the city in 15 minutes.

Short drive into Salzburg, several very good restaurants close by, gorgeous views of the mountains from our room which was a large size by European standards with a good size bathroom. Owners very friendly and helpful, exceptionally cleaning and new, the best eggs I have ever had for breakfast. We loved this place; it was the best place we stayed on this trip, would definitely stay again.

A very welcoming hotel.
A very warm and friendly experience. Simon and Daniella were lovely hosts. They made us feel very welcome and offered advice on attractions and getting around Salzburg. They even assisted us with photocopying and emailing a document for us. Thank you very much. This is a very neat and clean hotel. It’s a few miles from the city centre but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. Breakfast was very nice with a variety of things to choose from. Thank you again Simon and Daniella for a lovely stay at your hotel.

We were very happy with all aspects of our stay. The room was very pleasingt, clean, with everything in good condition. The location is tranquil with a view of the mountains. The host couple were friendly with a young daughter who is a pleasant part of the experience. The breakfast is fantastic. We weren't hungry again until late in the day..

Very nice place to stay in Salzburg, but you will need to pay close attention to check-in hours, as there is no one at reception desk after 6 p.m. This should be the only downside regarding this property in my oppinion, otherwise, very clean, confortable, relative close to the airport, good internet connection, breakfast and coffee! Not so many options for restaurants nearby though...

Excellent property with welcoming hosts.
Excellent pension/hotel with great hosts. Very friendly and helpful. About 5km from Salzburg but there is a regular bus service with bus stop outside the door. Great buffet breakfast with fresh local produce. Would highly reccommend this property.

The real 'Gem' of Salzburg!
Simon & Daniella were the perfect hostesses! Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best served as a buffet but all homemade! It was quiet, very clean, very warm & welcoming couple. Their beautiful daughter was such a delight to see each morning. They also helped with dinner reservations, bus schedules, guidance with anything!

Wonderful stay and great value
We were very pleased with Pension Ballwein. It was not in town so we took a bus to the old city. The bus stop was in front of the pension. Being outside the city meant a much quieter area with a beautiful view of mountains from our small porch. Hosts and breakfast could not have been better.

Charming Setting
Away from town but easily reached by bus, this Bed & Breakfast was peaceful, clean, and Simon and Daniela were very warm and welcoming. They served the best breakfast (and coffee) we had our entire trip. I highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful place to stay!
Simon & Daniela were lovely and friendly hosts. Pension Ballwein's comfortable, modern, new & clean room were a delight to stay in. There's a yummy array of food to choose from at breakfast which was included in our room price. Only a 10-15 minute bus ride into the city centre-very convenient! Peaceful & quiet also! Loved staying here, whilst in Salzburg! Definitely recommend this accommodation !

Clean, comfortable, owner operated B&B in suburban Salzburg. Bus stop to downtown bus located across from B&B. Full breakfast with farm fresh items daily.

We had a very nice welcome from the owner. breakfast was served from 7:30 until 10:00 so there was no problem if you wanted an early start or a late one. rooms were very clean and tidy. the owner and his wife were very helpful with tourist info.

Nice pension to explore Salzburg area
Spent 2 nights with the family to visit during school holidays Salzburg and sightseeings around. Quite new, clean, well managed hotel/pension. Friendly and supportive owner. Perfect connection to public transportation, bus stop is right in front of hotel. Great for money spent.

A good place to stay out of the city with easy bus connection to the old city. The room was clean & spacious, the design is a bit Spartan - like many Austrian B&B. Pros: very quite, clean, very pleasent dining room, nice breakfast, tea making facilities in the room - which was very nice! A special place in the garden for smokers. The cons: slow WiFi
