Thrills. Relaxation. Thrills. Relaxation. Off to Sasu but can't decide what sort getaway you're after? Stop stressing! We'll help sort it out.

It sits 230 kilometres to the southeast of the nation's capital, Seoul.

Make sure you bring a picnic chair so you can enjoy a leisurely bite beside the water at Gwangalli Beach or Gyeongju World California Beach.

Everyone knows that time spent in nature can improve your well-being, both mental and physical. Keeping that in mind, why don't you journey 35 kilometres out of Sasu to Gayasan National Park? Mt. Biseul, 25 kilometres away, is another excellent option.

Venture 18 kilometres southeast to Daegu World Cup Stadium to catch an exhilarating live game of soccer. Located in Daegu, this arena is the home of the Daegu FC, so kit yourself out in blue and white and get set to cheer!

The Kyungpook National University and the Daegu National Museum are not far from the centre of Daegu, 9 kilometres to the southeast. Eager for more? Goryeong, 25 kilometres to the southwest of Sasu, has Goryeong Daegaya Historic Site and Dodongseowon Confusian School.

Gyeongju sits 70 kilometres away from Sasu and is an important part of the local area. Surrounding attractions include the Gyeongju National Museum, Bomun Lake and the Bunhwangsa Temple. Still got some time to kill? Gyeongju World Culture Expo Park and Royal Tomb of Queen Seondeok are also within easy reach.

There's a whole new world of fantastic flavours waiting to tap dance across your taste buds in Daegu. With so many decadent things to eat and drink, all you need to bring along is a hearty appetite — and perhaps a pair of stretchy slacks.

Once you stop and flip through a restaurant or café menu, you'll see that beans and anchovies are a few ingredients commonly found in dishes here.

You don't need to dither over the restaurant menu when you're in Sasu. Jump straight in and sink your teeth into the region's signature dishes, such as jaecheopguk (clam soup) and bibimbap (sautéed vegetables on rice).

Andong sikhye (rice dessert) is a dessert that sums up this place in a single mouthful. Put in an order for a serving and see how long it takes until you're back for more!

Is there anything more pleasurable than knocking back an ice-cold beer topped off with a frothy, white head? Satiate your thirst and mingle with the locals over a couple of rounds of Prime Max.

Straight up, mixed or in a cocktail — doesn't matter! One or two shots of cheongju (rice wine) will add some zing to your night out! The locals enjoy it, and it's most definitely worth trying.

If you're travelling to Sasu on the 15th of August, get ready for some festivities! Liberation Day sees crowds of locals joining together to celebrate.

When it's time to fly home, make sure you have ample time to get to Gimhae Airport (PUS). Situated 90 kilometres to the southeast from Sasu, this is the nearest terminal.
