It lies 920 kilometres to the southwest of the capital of Japan, Tokyo.
The tranquil sounds of nature are waiting for you at Unzen-Amakusa National Park. It's located just 25 kilometres away, so you needn't be on the road all day. Kyusendo Cave, 35 kilometres away, is another recommended choice.
There's nothing better than the atmosphere of a live soccer match! See the Roasso Kumamoto in action on their home ground at KKWing Stadium, a fantastic arena 45 kilometres away in Kumamoto.
Fans of winter sports adore Senzoku, as it gives access to Tenzan Ski Resort and Gokase Highland Ski & Snowboard. Remember to pack plenty of layers! These slopes can get icy indeed.
Seize the opportunity to visit other nearby sights, such as Amakusa Gokyo Bridge and the Shiro Amakusa Memorial Hall. These are situated 8 kilometres southwest in Kamiamakusa.
