Positives:
The owner was polite, and this guesthouse is a short hop from Itaewon. They are also dog-friendly.
Negatives:
The owner wasn't there to check us in, which wouldn't be an issue except that despite the hostel listing free parking we had to illegally park in an apartment's lot across the street until he could come meet us.
When we finally got to our room, there was a cooking class being held in the common area, which we weren't told about. So instead of being able to relax after a hard day's travel, we got to lie there listening to a loud Korean TV show and *very* loud Korean conversation. The bedroom's walls are paper-thin; be prepared to hear every footstep.
The bed itself is rock-hard, as are the pillows. Fortunately everything was clean.
The website didn't list that the bathroom would be shared, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't literally just a toilet and a shower nozzle attached to the sink. If anyone else in the building uses a faucet while you're showering, your water pressure and temperature drop to zero. What would have been an enjoyable ten-minute showered turned into a hour-long battle of wills. The ceiling in the bathroom is moldy as well.
TL;DR
I've backpacked through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Somehow, every hostel I've stayed at along the way has been better than this one. However, the owner is polite and the hostel is pet-friendly and close to Itaewon.
