If you're on your way to Siruela, keep this in mind — hotel options in the vicinity are as sparse as the hair on your great uncle Terry's head!

However, there's no need to lose your mind. Logrosan is around 50 kilometres away and offers some sensational hotels, including the Parador De Guadalupe Caceres and La Alberguería.

High heels or flip-flops? However you like to roll, you're certain to enjoy a trip to Trujillo, 85 kilometres away. With Plaza Mayor and Trujillo Castle to explore, you're not gonna be short on things to do. Lovely hotel but no-one around

The hotel itself is fantastic with its patio garden, wonderful sun terrace and lovely rooms but the owners were away for our stay so we had no bar or restaurant, and the swimming pool was covered over. We were let in and told we had to find our own food in the village which is harder than it sounds on a Sunday in Spain. We did find a little shop where we could buy some snacks and cans of drink for the afternoon and we were able to get an evening meal at the only bar which was open and serving later on but that's not the hassle which is welcome after a long day's travel. Had we known there would be no bar or food in the hotel we would not have booked at this time but could only go by what was shown in the Hotels app.
