"I regret doing all that travel," said no one ever. So grab your passport and get set to experience it all over again in SoDo, Seattle! This vibrant city has a population of around 600,000 people and attracts big numbers of adventurous travellers like yourself each year. You'll find SoDo 3 kilometres south of downtown Seattle. From Boeing Field Airport, it's 6 kilometres to the northwest.

A great deal of this city's top attractions are scattered near SoDo, and Space Needle and Pike Place Market are two of the most impressive. You should also visit the University of Washington and the Woodland Park Zoo. For a better perspective of this vibrant city as a whole, spend time in the nearby neighbourhoods of International District and Pioneer Square.

There are loads of reasons why so many visitors head straight to the centre of Seattle. The Museum of Pop Culture and Seattle Center are just a couple of them. To get an even better feel for the area, also look around the Washington State Convention Center and Bank of America Tower.

Like to learn something new? The Tillicum Village, the WaMu Theater, the Duwamish Longhouse and Cultural Center and the Roving Gallery are some top cultural places.

Local art galleries like the Seattle Art Museum, the Frye Art Museum, the Seattle Asian Art Museum and the Chihuly Garden and Glass show off the creative side of the region. Why not see if there are any upcoming exhibitions and admire some of the amazing works?

From interactive displays to awe-inspiring objects and artefacts, there's something for everyone at museums. If you get stuck with some miserable weather, why not take yourself over to the Pacific Science Center, the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, the Last Resort Fire Department Museum and the Museum of Communications?

There's nothing quite like the atmosphere of excitement when a show is about to kick off. Watch the curtains go up at the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, Benaroya Hall, Neumos and the Pacific Northwest Ballet.

Do you know your birdie from your eagle and your putter from your driver? Whether you're bordering on pro status or a rookie, golf is a game for everyone! You can play a round or two here at the West Seattle Golf Course and the Jefferson Park Golf Course.

Often kids can have fun in rather unexpected places. Indulge them with visits to the Seattle Public Library, Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Children's Museum and the SIFF Cinema Uptown.

Are the kids getting tired of all the history and culture? Have some time out and check out one of the nearby family-friendly attractions. The Seattle Great Wheel, Game Works, Jefferson Park and Queen Anne Pool are popular choices.

The Seattle Chinese Garden and Blake Island State Park are among the best places for nature fans to spend some time outdoors.

Pull on your hiking boots and stroll through the close-by ecological preserves, such as the Seattle Japanese Garden, Volunteer Park Conservatory and Duwamish Head.

Whether you're hoping to recharge your batteries a little bit or have a laugh with some friends, the nearby urban parks are great places to be. Take your pick from Olympic Sculpture Park, Gas Works Park, Volunteer Park and Kerry Park.

There's nothing better than indulging in a bit of retail therapy. Give your purse a workout at Pacific Place, Westlake Center, Grand Central Arcade and Nordstrom.
