You cannot beat the setting: a 900-year-old fortress on the top of a hill! There is a great buffet breakfast available, but no restaurant on premises. The staff are friendly and dedicated.

This enchanting place would be to stay in this Hotel and observe the rare and suggestive beauty of this true corner of paradise. There are Silvia and Cristiano two extraordinarily welcoming people. Excellent service!

Once in a lifetime experience to stay in an ancient fortress with views of a charming medieval village. Beds are comfy. Bathrooms clean and spacious. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is much to see nearby, including Pitigliano, Sovana and the thermal springs at Saturnia. Wished I had booked more days. Hotel della Fortezza is above the town, a short walk to eateries and other sights, so it is quiet at night, except for church bells. We thought the room, the view, the breakfast, and the convenient public parking made our visit to the area more special, which is something to say when you are touring Italy's best kept secret.

Can't recommend a stay here more highly! The hotel, in a fortress, is utterly amazing. Staff goes above and beyond and breakfast was wonderful. Definitely do the Etruscan hollow caves night excursion. Our guide was Erica and she was excellent.

Staff very accomodating Clean, comfortable Beautiful Castle comfortable we didn't stay for breakfast parking a bit far although Staff accomodated a way to unload luggage thru a different entrance. a bit difficult to find on maps. best to get exact location from office or navigate to Serano

This was a bucket list item - stay in a castle!! it was a real treat, the room was very clean, bed comfortable, great shower. Easy and free parking was a bonus, and so easy to walk around Sorano. The dinner was exceptional, definitely eat in their restaurant at least once. We would definitely stay here again.
