The room was not the room we were advertised in the pictures. It was much smaller and didnt even have a window to outside. We were then woken up by hammering directly above us at 8:30 am. The only positives were they allowed us to check in a 1 instead of 3 and the staff was nice enough.

The Monte Carlo on Dundas has very limited parking and the grounds are industrial, with garbage bins in back. The rooms are 2-3 star grade. Apparently there is a "basemen" floor, but I can't imagine what they would be like. Clean, minimal fuss or features. No "view"from windows, just daylight. Renovations improved the comfort and appearance, but workmanship was purely functional grade. The breakfast is definitely an edge when competing against other similar standard hotels. The staff are helpful and reservations were processed quickly. Good for one night on a budget.

Continental breakfast was ok. Staff were so very friendly and eager to please. But the door did not have a proper fit in frame so you could see right through the wide crack, cold air blew in and since our room was at front of building facing very heavy traffic it was S if we slept with a window wide open. And this was ground floor. I did not feel secure in that room

Great stay
I stayed there for weekend 2 of the Eras Tour and they played only Taylor songs in the lobby it was a sweet gesture, the staff was super nice and welcoming. The room was small but very well kept. The only bad thing is that you can hear the doors open and close in the morning.

Front desk workers were SO friendly!! It was the first weekend out of TWO for the Taylor Seift concert and they even had her music playing in the lobby. Breakfast was good. Room and hotel was clean and I felt safe.

Guy checking in was very nice. room was very small. Old building. It is labeled as spacious, but don't let that fool you, it is small. It is a good thing I didn't have a suitcase and just an overnight bag. The water pressure in the shower was great, the shampoo and conditioner was very nice, the soap bottle ran out after a few pumps. My issue was the linens. There was stains on the sheet, large stains of what looked like dried blood or body fluids on the mattress protector that was way too small for the bed and moved around as the straps were broken. Also, the second mattress protector (the one that zips up) had a very large stain on it... no idea what it was, could have been coffee...could have been something else I wasn't about to smell it an find out. I asked for new linens but they don't have cleaners at night, so I got new sheets from the front desk guy. You can also hear everything outside the room. The continental breakfast was pretty standard, what they did have, they had a good amount of it.
