The resort is in need of a renovation. The lobby area is nice. The filtered water bottle filler was a good amenity. The assistant bell captain, Leo, was terrific. He was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping manager was also great. The front desk staff was awful. They were uncaring, did not make eye contact, were not welcoming. It was like they were reading a script. No personalized service. We felt like they were being inconvenienced having to help us. They do not provide a good first, or last, impression of your property.

Aloha! This is a cute hotel with a perfect location in the heart of Waikīkī. I had a beautiful view of both the ocean & Diamond Head from my room! I chose this hotel over the more modern & more expensive ones because it had everything I needed: clean spacious rooms, a pool, complimentary breakfast with fresh fruit, beach towels to borrow, and more, all for a fair price. My favorite part of my stay was the complimentary classes offered, specifically the Sunrise Yoga & Sunset Meditation classes. Led by the lovely Julia of Zen Fitness, who was patient, kind, and she completely tailored the class to make it accessible for all participants. These classes were held on the beach and quite honestly it felt surreal to have a view of Diamond Head while in downward dog! Starting my day under a rainbow on Waikīkī beach while practicing yoga and ending my day taking in a picture perfect sunset while meditating couldn’t have been more beautiful, grounding & zen. There were other classes the hotel offered that I was interested in, though I wasn’t able to attend due to other activities I had scheduled. Mahalo Waikīkī Resort!

Not a bad place to stay - I'd do it again
This was a perfectly adequate room. Staff were pleasant. The free breakfast had little to offer that was gluten-free so the second morning we ate at the little restaurant on the first floor. The service wasn't great but the food was eatable. There was a laundry facility in the grim basement which I guess was better than nothing.

Ideal location and comfortable stay. Walkable neighborhood to all the best spots of Waikiki. Wifi, AC all worked well. We had a mini fridge and coffee maker in our room and two double beds. The room and bath were a bit outdated and the wallpaper was in need of a refresh. Plastic chairs on patio were a bit old/basic. Staff were friendly and professional. Park in the breakfast room was really nice and friendly with our family. Having the continental breakfast with fresh fruit was quite handy for our family with young kids that tend to survive on cereal and fruit. My husband and I preferred to eat elsewhere but did appreciate this. Parking is expensive and we didn’t have a problem getting a space during our 6 night stay but they were limited. Pool was cold so we only used it once. Not sure why all the hotels consider themselves resorts here. Having one activity each day doesn’t make for a “resort” experience. It’s a cash grab but seems to be the norm in HI.

This was a great hotel right in the centre of Honolulu with Waikīkī beach a 1 minute walk away. Many amenities such as yoga and sunset meditation on the beach, pool up top and FREE breakfast which was so nice to have. We travelled via bus and the stops were minutes away from this hotel. We will definitely recommend this spot to anyone and will stay here again if we come back!

Location of hotel is great, very close to the beach and Kalakaua Ave. It was a bonus that a basic breakfast buffet was included consisting of salad greens, fruit, cold cuts, boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, toast, beverages. Pool was nice and appreciated the filtered water stations. Didn't like the construction noise around hotel, but noticed construction seemed to be everywhere in Waikiki so pretty hard to avoid. I have stayed at many hotels and the room accommodations were more on the level of a motel which was disappointing and the lighting was very low especially in the sink area by the closet. There is a thermostat but it did not function and it appears to be set at a very cold temp of 22.5c we were freezing.
