We really enjoyed our stay at The Sands. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, clean,modern and comfortable. There are great resources to take advantage of including an indoor heated pool, well equipped gym, tennis courts, bar, bistro etc. The Sands is well located with a short walk to quieter beachs at Torquay, a super short drive to cafes, shops etc and a longer nice walk alongside the beach into town. We found The Sands great value for money, really enjoyed our stay and wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Our stay was ok. The restaurant was closed when we arrived which made it difficult for us to find a place to eat at 3pm. Also, my daughter who is 14 years old was kicked out of the gym in a very awful and rude way. I was with my daughter at the time and she wasn’t doing anything wrong except being under 16. It was a rainy day and we exhausted all the activities and games we had and decided to walk on the treadmill (apparently it was strictly not allowed).

The location near beach was great,easy parking,positive customer service.Health club great. Our room facing the carpark was disappointing-noisy at night and hot/stuffy-this is not relaxing or in anyway scenic.

I loved the quality of the room and resort facilities. I also loved the free on-site parking. Best of all was the fact the resort is a 2 minute walk to the dog beach and not far from the main beach and shops.

Great hotel, great location if you want a bit of peace and quiet. Would have liked the restaurant to be open a bit later - 8pm for last orders is a bit early (but maybe that’s a European thing?)
