It's located close to two of the country's most popular cities. Head 110 kilometres to the north to explore Bern. Alternatively, go northeast 190 kilometres to reach Canton of Zurich.

One of the local area's most famous attractions is Teatro Romano Ruins. See it for yourself in Aosta, 40 kilometres to the southeast of Trient.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is overflowing with terrific attractions. Found 15 kilometres to the southwest, here you'll be treated to Aiguille du Midi, Sea of Ice and the Bellevue Cable Car.

You won't need to go too far afield to take in some pleasant natural sights. Jump in the car and venture over to Mont Blanc, 25 kilometres away from Trient, for a relaxed day. Or perhaps Parc de Merlet looks more appealing? You'll find it 19 kilometres away.

There's nothing quite like racing out of bed and finding some fresh powder at Meribel Ski Resort. Once you've checked out all the trails there, pack up your snowboard or skis and test your skills at Val Thorens Ski Resort.

If you're contemplating expanding your horizons, go 7 kilometres northwest to Finhaut. This is where you'll come across Domaine de Balme Ski Area and Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval Nature Reserve. We also suggest heading to Vallorcine, 8 kilometres to the west, for Lac Cornu and the Flegere Cable Car.

Feel like checking out Labyrinthe Aventure, Lavey Spa and the Chateau de Saint-Maurice? Make your way to Mex, 17 kilometres to the north, and set up camp. These sights, as well as Saint-Maurice Abbey and Saint-Maurice Fortress, are all nearby.
