The hotel is nicely located near the the train station and an easy walk to all the central spots. (Note: it is named for the river, not the cathedral - the cathedral is a 5-10min walk away). If you are arriving from the airport, take the train - it costs about £3 and is slightly quicker than the bus.
Room wasn't huge but was big enough and it had a decent view over some rooftops to water and hills. It has a kettle and a mini fridge. There are tea bags in the room but more selection in reception and by the breakfast room to take back to the room if needed.
The breakfast in the hotel is great - everything you could possibly hope for from cold meats, cheeses, salmon to three or four different types of egg, bacon, sausage, pancakes, vegetables to fruit, cereal, bread and pastries.
