We hear ya! That plane flying overhead unleashed the traveller within, right? Then a trip to Tuji might be just what you need! From here, you'll be able to venture off the well-trodden tourist trail and explore the awesome beaches, coastal plains and rivers of South Jeolla.

It's situated 270 kilometres to the south of the capital of South Korea, Seoul.

There is a variety of striking natural sights not too far from Tuji. Why not set out 40 kilometres to Jiri-san National Park? Alternatively, you can enjoy the picturesque sights of Naejangsan National Park, 50 kilometres away.

Enjoy the buzz and excitement of watching a live soccer game at Guus Hiddink Stadium, home to the Gwangju FC. After you've roared along with their biggest fans, why not get a drink with a few of them somewhere close by? To get to the venue, head 35 kilometres west to Gwangju.

Looking for even more awesome attractions? Go to Gokseong, 11 kilometres north of Tuji, for the Dorimsa Temple and the Gokseong Leisure Culture Center. Alternatively, Hwasun is 25 kilometres to the southwest, and it's here you'll discover the Hwasun Dolmen Site and Dasan Misoolgwan.

Damyang, 30 kilometres to the northwest, is worth a day trip. You can use it as a port of call when visiting Gwanbangjerim Forest Park, the Bamboo Museum and the Bamboo Garden. If you need more convincing, other close by sights include the Myeonangjeong Pavilion and Geumjeong Fwarang.

Explore the countryside from a new perspective and partake in some mountain climbing or hiking. They're both well-loved hobbies in this corner of the globe.
