Overall, I liked the hotel. It is historic, it is well cared for, being over 100 years old, and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The food is good and the bar is great. My only complaints are:
1. No elevator - we were on the 4th floor, which is fine, but it did get tiring after 5 times in one day.
2. No coffee in the room. This goes with number one in that there is free coffee in the lobby, but we had to go down four flights and then back up with coffee to enjoy it in our room in bed. It would be fine with an elevator, but a cheap Keurig in the room would be a much better alternative.
3. The bathrooms are dated and not great. Some of them are shared, which you will know which one are when you book. We got a private one, and the shower was very very slow to heat up, and water got everywhere. The sink was not aligned with the faucet correctly, which resulted in a lot of water spilling onto the counter. The counter was sloped forward, which resulted in your hand washing water spilling all over your feet and the floor.
4. No, tv, but I understand that it's an old building with thin walls, not a huge deal.
5. The walls are thin, but that can't be helped really.
Overall, I had a good stay, and I see the charm. However, for 4 nights it became a bit too much given the above. If I stay again, it will be for one night only. Please, put coffee makers in the rooms.
