A real shock !
Check in was as you would expect. The room looked great, until I entered the bathroom, thick layer of dust on the door panelling, a clump of bodily hair in the washbasin plug. The handle for opening the window was broken, I really struggled to open the window. Does a hotel of this standard really need to charge £20.00 / night, parking. The group has a low cost brand called "Ty" hotels, by far better value for money, and offers free parking.

Received room upgrade because of anniversary celebration which was very nice inc free bottle of champagne. Unfortunately only 2 lifts in operation and waiting times were long and often the lift would arrive full. Often had to go up in lift before going down as that was the only way to ensure space. Really poor and needs improving as many people complaining about wait times.| Also had issues with room keys not working and had to face using lift to go down to reception to get new key facing above lift issues. This happened twice during our one day stay. Also did not like the regimented process of having to book specific time slots for swimming and breakfast which took away the idea of a relaxing stay.

furniture, facilities and understaffed. Used the stairs more than the lifts which were over crowned. More of a 3 star than a 5 star. I will look the alternative accommodation in England next time.

Short trip for our 30th Wedding anniversary & the restaurant staff made it extra special, room excellent, staff very friendly & helpful, the only negative I have is that you have to pay separately for on property parking which can be quite expensive.

I was surprised to find extortionate Parking FEES. This only was advised of after booking on the 3rd email. The money i saved from my blue light card , was given back on parking charges. Also we saw several people not pay as the barriers just lifted with no insertion of ticket. Feeling ripped off and sad.

The property is set in beautiful grounds. The rooms felt a bit dated. The lift system was very frustrating. Plug sockets/usb charging port on both sides would be useful.
