Upon arrival to the hotel we were told only one of the rooms booked had been confirmed despite receiving no communication to that effect prior to our stay. All records showed we had 2 rooms booked and the money had been taken. The hotel staff were very unhelpful, stating that we would have to pay for another room or share the one that was booked. After some time, they were able to find a 'test' room to fulfill our booking.

Hotel communal areas were lovely but rooms, especially bathroom lets it down - definitely in need of refurbishment. Considering what I paid I was slightly disappointed. Saying that, the staff were great and the food we ate there was nice. Breakfast - a bit slow to top up dishes on the buffet. The hotel is in a great location for visiting RHS Bridgewater which was the main reason for our stay.

The bathroom arrangement is not good. The lavatory is in a separate cubicle which is OK but means there is no basin immediately available to wash your hands in. The main problem is the shower/bath. The shower is behind a quite long glass screen at the top of the bath. While it is nice to have a bath available the side is so high it was quite difficult for me, an elderly lady, to get into and out of to have either a bath or a shower. I had a bath but as the soap is in a container fixed to the wall at a height for shower users I had to stand up from my bath every time i needed soap to wash with. Not ideal! The lavatory flush was not good. Working sometimes but now always.
