Beautiful hotel, good location, excellent service if anything too intentive with looking after the room Only downfal was the shower ran from the bath taps and the shower screen was by fold and didnt wanna stay in place but im being picky, but then when its 5 star i suppose you can be

Great location. Room design was strange as the tv was positioned so you had to look over your left shoulder to watch while in bed. Had to make 3 requests for shampoo and bath gel and hangars before any action. Crumbs on nightstand were never cleaned.

Amazing building. Staff helpful and your feel like you have known them for a long time. Only downside was the heating. It was too warm. Had to have windows open at end November. As there was working going on the workmen where noisy at 7am. Saying that I would still go back.

I took my parents to Amsterdam as part of a long-anticipated trip. My mom has been wanting to come to Amsterdam for years and the Grand Amrath was a wonderful place to call home base for the week. I actually made a booking mistake - I forgot the date change flying from the US to The Netherlands. Our reservation wound up being canceled because I didnt realize my mistake until our layover in Reykjavik. But I explained my error to the front desk and they had us rebooked and sorted in a matter of minutes. Humphrey and Julia helped me avoid a nightmare! Also, the hotel breakfast buffet is delicious. A little pricey, but food has lots of fresh bread, fruits, meats and cheeses. So worth it. The central location of the hotel also made it easy for us to move through our packed itinerary.

Great hotel with excellent facilities, staff really helpful. Complimentary mini bar and chocolates on pillow every night is a nice touch. The beds are huge and extremely comfortable and the spa was lovely to relax in after the busy day out.
