Lovely little cottage in a beautiful area
Lovely place to stay, right next to some stunning walks, and some that are a short drive away. Would recommend taking slippers as the floor is tile downstairs and gets cold and slightly damp in evenings. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy when warmed up, extra blankets were also provided making it a bit cosier. We visited Thor's Cave which was a stunning walk with views at the top, and there's a little tearoom nearby. That's only a 10 minute drive away from the cottage! If you have the windows open over night you can hear the stream which is quite relaxing, but you do get the sound of people in the morning as it's the central spot for the walking route (it's not to bad, just something to bear in mind if you like windows open). Overall lovely stay.

Hidden little gem
What a fantastic little cottage..... Perfect location if you want to get away from it all & enjoy the peace and quiet. The cottage itself can not be faulted. Decorated to a high modern standard whilst keeping all the original features of this beautiful old building. Good communication from the owner, handover was a simple process. Cant wait to return.

Peaceful
Old Millers Cottage was very cosy and quaint. All that was needed was there and it was in a lovely position close to river Dove and we could walk from the doorstop. It was very peaceful and quiet. Weather was not too bad a bit more sunshine would have been welcome!

We had a lovely few days at Millers Cottage. Cottage was clean and check in was easy. Great location for walking. The water pressure upstairs was poor and the Wi-Fi unfortunately stopped working after the first day so we were completely off grid! Ant the host was quick to respond when we contacted him.

Best location ever?
Really nice stay in this little gem. Very compact, especially downstairs but perfect for 2. The river Dove is immediately outside the front door as is the beautiful footpath through to Dovedale. The George pub in the next village has Michelin standard food - well worth a visit.

Beautiful Peak District
Old Millers Cottage is delightful and is located in a superb position with excellent walks direct from the doorstep. Upon arrival we found the cottage to be clean, well presented and comfortable. This was our first holiday cottage rental and therefore unsure what to expect, it couldn't have been better. Thanks Ant.

A perfect spot
We loved our few days in Mill Dale. There are lots of beautiful walks from the doorstep. We are frequent visitors to the area but this was our first stay in Mill Dale...which can be busy during the day and is very quiet at night. It was great to be so close to the river... Just a shame that you couldn't see it from inside the house!

Sweet little cottage
The cottage was comfortable and updated to a high standard, and Milldale was a pretty little hamlet with good walking nearby. Only issue was a musty smell because there's some damp in one corner. It's an old cottage, built into the hillside, so I think the owners have done their best to mitigate this. Also would suggest the addition of a small, wall-mounted microwave. But it was a lovely stay.

Excellent stay
We really loved our time in the old miller's cottage, for the age of the property it was nearly immaculate and I don't envy whoever has to keep on top of all those spiders and their pesky webs. The cottage was very warm with the heating settings that had been left but we would recommend slippers for the tile floors downstairs. The decorations throughout are lovely and emphasise the cottages unique character. It loses a star for us on communication with the property owner when clarifying the check in time as this had changed from our original booking and for the size of the bed and doorway for the shower cubicle. My husband and I are both broad, tall-ish strong at 5ft6 my feet reached the end of the bed and my husband of 6ft2/3 had to curl up which is hard with his size and strength, the mattress was also uncomfortable for us but I think mattresses are a personal thing and not one size fits all it might be the dream for someone else. Neither of these things would prevent us from booking again or recommending the cottage to family and friends. We loved our stay for our minimoon. Thank you.

Cosey cottage in a perfect location
My wife and I had a very enjoyable relaxing few days between Christmas and New Year. The cottage is small but perfect for just the two of us to relax. You couldn't wish for a better location, right by the river and only a 20 min walk to a pub. Stunning country walks begin right on the doorstep - Thors cave, Dovedale...
