Holidays in Bangsar

Quit your job, book a ticket, fall in love, never return. You don't have to do all of those things, but one you should do is pay for that ticket to Bangsar. One of the many 'hoods of Kuala Lumpur, it's a terrific base for exploring all that this city has to offer. The capital of Malaysia is home to around 1,500,000 people. Don't be scared to head out and introduce yourself to a few of them! From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Bangsar is about 40 kilometres to the north. If you're arriving via central Kuala Lumpur, the suburb is 4 kilometres to the southwest.

This city isn't short on impressive things to do, and many of them can be found near Bangsar. It's difficult to pick the best sights, but Petronas Twin Towers and Petaling Street are a couple you can't miss. You should also make sure to pay a visit to Merdeka Square and Malaysian Houses of Parliament. For a different perspective on Kuala Lumpur, take off to Brickfields and Mid Valley City, close-by neighbourhoods that are definitely worth a peek.

Batu Caves is certainly among the most iconic sights of Kuala Lumpur. Getting to it shouldn't prove challenging, as it's located just 11 kilometres from the city centre.

The city centre also boasts a collection of sights to feast your eyes upon, such as Kuala Lumpur Tower and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Alternatively, have a look around the Lake Gardens and the Jamek Mosque.

Have a bit of fun at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club and the Royal Selangor Club. They're top sites for those travelling without children in tow.

The National Art Gallery, the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, the Shalini Ganendra Fine Art and the Malaysia Heritage Walk are ideal for those looking to learn a bit about the area's culture.

If you've got a passion for the arts, you won't want to miss the Islamic Arts Museum and the Asian Art Museum. Walk around and if anything gets you thinking, ask the staff for information about its background.

Sometimes it's the biggest and best exhibits that excite us the most. Other times it's an underrated treasure that's been hidden in a darkly lit corner. Keep an eye out for both at National Science Centre, the Bank Negara Money Museum, Pusat Sains Negara National Science Center and the Royal Malaysian Police Museum.

You can't quite beat the feeling of excitement when a live performance is due to start. Take your seat and watch the curtains go up at the Palace of Culture, the DBKL City Theatre, the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre and Petronas Filharmonik Hall.

The fairways of the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam, the Titiwangsa Golf Course and the Royal Selangor Golf Club are calling your name. Work on your swing, challenge some friends to a round and try to knock some strokes off your scorecard.

Find out all about a variety of extraordinary critters as you watch them mess about at Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, Kuala Lumpur Deer Park and the Sentul Park Koi Centre.

Are the kids getting fidgety with all the history and culture? Take a break and check out one of the local family friendly attractions. Titiwangsa Lake Gard. and Desa Waterpark are popular choices.

Gasing Hill, Asean Sculpture Garden and Gabai Waterfalls are top spots for nature enthusiasts to enjoy the outdoors.

Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, Bukit Gasing Reserve and the Perdana Botanical Garden can give you insights into the plants, trees and birds that inhabit the region.

Prepare a picnic spread and invite a few friends down to hang out in one of the lively green spaces nearby. You have a number of options, including KLCC Park, Butterfly Park, Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens and Taman Aman.

A trip away is a splendid opportunity to splash your cash and grab a souvenir or two. Make sure you take a look at Mid Valley Mega Mall, Suria KLCC Shopping Centre, Central Market and Bangsar Village!

Dress yourself from head to toe in black and yellow, take off to Bukit Jalil National Stadium and cheer on the Malaysia national football team. A visit to this stadium is obligatory for true soccer fans!

"Location is absolutely convenient. However, I disliked the sofa that comes with the room, it sinks too much in the middle. Also external food deliveries are not allowed to be dropped off or sent up to the room by the concierge. Talk about petty."
