We loved the quietness of the area, the food was very good and good portions and the Staff were brilliant, Mark the owner works tirelessly and makes you very welcome, Andy one of the Barman was very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you so we would like to thank him especially for making our stay brilliant, we will definitely go back, a big thank you for a lovely weekend 😁 Michael & Shell 👍
A good night's sleep is assured in a characterful room with beams. Ideal for a walking holiday, as there are miles of wonderful footpaths all around. Beautiful scenery near a river. There is really a "Far From The Madding Crowd" ambience in this unspoilt village.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Lovely quiet and pretty location. Superb staff provided a friendly welcoming service. Breakfasts very generous with lots of options. Good evening meal selection. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Would really recommend to others and would stay again ourselves.
Staff were excellent. Dinner was top rate and breakfast just as good with generous portions.
My room was clean and the bed was comfortable, water was hot and the shower worked very well.
The only minus points were that my triple room was cramped even for two and the ensuite had no ventilation. However the good points made up for this.
You could ask nothing more from a moderately priced hotel.
Lovely traditional room, nice pub food, bar, good shower.
Went above and beyond at breakfast time.
Beautiful location!
A lovely old building made very cosy by its present owners. Very hospitable very happy to assist still when under pressure! Lovely setting! Top rate breakfast! Will definitely go back if the occasion arises!
The location is lovely and suited us well. Two star rating is accurate . Breakfast was very good and everyone was very friendly. But the hotel is looking a bit worn and we understand that former owners neglected it. Nevertheless, present owners are making big efforts.
Enjoyed our stay. Building rustic upstairs but service was excellent and very attentive. Parking area could be larger. All staff were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable.
As usual - great. Comfortable bed, good shower (Room 1), really good food, top class hospitality (Thanks Mark & Lisa (oh, and Uncle Dave and Alan)). The evening menu is good and tasty, and the portions large: breakfast here is a great start to your day.
