Great property, fantastic neighbourhood in charming Chania.
Easy to get to, whether you take the public bus from the airport or accept the hotel's offer of the airport transfer (which is reasonably priced). Accessibility will be an issue for anyone who can't climb a flight of stairs to reach the room. The staff will help you carry your luggage up, but there is no elevator at this property...or if there is, it's very well hidden.
The balcony faces the entrance to the covered market, where you can pick up all sorts of local products and tasty foods both raw and prepared. The street that the front door faces seems like a quiet semi-residential street in the daytime, but at night becomes a restaurant row. It's a nice area to be in at night, especially as an alternative to all the larger cafes and restaurants located immediately around the bay.
To access the breakfast (if included in your package), you'll have to walk about 2 minutes to the main hotel, the Elia Betolo, to get it. Overall, the Elia group seems to run quite a few properties in Chania very well. Having stayed at the Daliani and the Betolo, I would say choose the Betolo if you need an elevator, easier access to the breakfast, and prefer the traditional hotel experience. If you want to feel like you live in Chania, choose the Daliani or one of the other suites. I would stay at this company's properties again.
