The accommodation was ok. The house was a reasonable size and the living area had a nice open set up.
Unfortunately the oven/stove top was not operating properly when we were there - despite detailed instructions left about how the oven/stove top could be turned on, once we eventually switched it on that evening it kept switching off, which was annoying as we had bought food to cook that evening due to the limited eating out options in the area. If I book a house as accommodation, I expect to be able to use indoor cooking facilities.
There was also no fire wood left in April to operate the fire, only the reverse cycle air con (apparently they leave wood only in colder months). Although it was warm enough with only the air con whilst we were there, it would be nice if they left it up to us as to whether we wanted to use the fire (it’s part of the attraction in staying in a place like this).
The property is also on tank water, so note that you need to boil any drinking water, which is fine. They had a neat set up with pre-boiled water for drinking.
The list of instructions at the property was also a bit condescending (messages like, if you’re not checked out in time, you’ll be charged fees, if you leave the place dirty, you’ll be charged cleaning fees etc). It was unnecessary and a bit rude.
The accommodation was competitively priced and reasonably clean, but the accumulation of little things that should be improved upon meant I probably wouldn’t stay again.
